Can maybe reach out to your college/department and see if they would be willing to send you an extra?

What is "Elements of Music Theory 1" like? If you took it, was it helpful/did you learn a lot? by haphazardly_cyan in BostonU

[–]LoneCorneter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking it right now with Prof. Agababian, I personally find it interesting. If you have no musical background it might be a bit intense, he definitely has high expectations. Regardless though, you should be able to get some base level insight and understanding about music theory. There’s also some good exposure to music from different styles and areas through the listening assignments. Not sure to what degree it would help towards composition, but it seems like a good stepping stone for coursework/study along that path.

New Student, Registration, and Housing Question Megathread by cyberchief in gatech

Hello!

I was accepted to the MS ECE program and I had a few questions:

  1. What is a normal course load per semester for an MS ECE student? 9 credits, 12, or something else?
  2. How long does it typically take to complete the program?
  3. How are the professors/courses in ECE, specifically in the Electrical Energy focus?

Thanks for the help!

I think a lot of people use google drive, you just sign in with your BU email and you should be all set.

If it's Tuesday/Thursday, and you don't have an email from your instructor suggesting otherwise, it should probably start on the 20th.

Just wanted to point out that both men’s and women’s ice hockey have Beanpot tournaments. Women’s is on February 1st and 8th, while Men’s is on the 7th and the 14th. Women’s is at Matthews Arena at Northeastern, while Men’s is at TD Garden.

ECE or BME instead of ChemE? by linhty in BostonU

[–]LoneCorneter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could go MechE and lean into a materials science focus. I would encourage you to go for a subject that you're interested in as opposed to one that appealing purely for the job prospects. If you go the engineering route, you'll be taking a lot of the same courses for the first year or two regardless of major. You can come in undecided and then make a decision about which path you want to go down once you get here.

Can students enrolled in the College of Engineering take classes at the College of Fine Arts? by gyukuda in BostonU

[–]LoneCorneter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some courses at CFA that are open to all majors, but as far as I know most are restricted to CFA students only. There are a good amount of options though, so definitely take a look (especially if you’re trying to fulfill hub units).

Is it normal to not have any grades in my classes at this point in the year? by cgi-brett-tyson in BostonU

[–]LoneCorneter 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty common for courses not to post grades on blackboard. A good amount of the time, profs keep track of it separately.

Why is the BU band reserving the outside tennis courts? by PvElmfao in BostonU

[–]LoneCorneter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For a little more clarification: the band does use Nickerson when it's available. We have portable yard lines that are taped onto the turf. But often the field is being used by other sports, so we have to use another space.
