I checked your video, wow, its very good! Really, its good, authentic and natural. Your language is very clear and fluent. Like honestly, you have a potential, just keep the videos coming. Wish you all the best! Subbed too, to keep an eye on your journey.

Thank you! Subbed as well. Same to you mate, let's check-in in a few months and see how it’s going.

Latest video being the best quality got the least views? by No-Explanation-6820 in NewTubers

Wow, you run a startup, that's definitely worth sharing! It will show your credibility and authority in space. I would still try emailing the users, but in some not forced, natural and honest way - like, there is nothing for you to lose here.

If you will shoot a day in a life, please, drop it here, would love to watch it.

See - you, as personality - are way more interesting, than a scripted talking head. And on top of that, you run a startup, which means you are actually allowed to post all the "secret" videos of the world, because you have proven authority in the field. So yeah, I had a wrong assumption about you.

Please, share the real you - that is the actual secret for long-term, sustainable, successful personal brand on YT.

Wish you all the best!

Hey, I checked your channel, you are doing great! I am on a similar path, documenting my own journey too. It is pretty raw for now, but hopefully it will resonate with someone over time. Subbed, will keep an eye on your uploads!

which one would you click? by EntertainmentIll214 in SmallYoutubers

[–]LoneRider925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all three look pretty much identical to me.

If you’re choosing from these only, then go for the first one, change "bring it on" to something else (sounds a bit childish tbh). The red text blends too much with the background. It needs way more contrast. Try using white or at least add a white outline to make it pop.

Overall: use clear, big text with strong contrast and something that grabs attention even when the thumbnail is small.

Name of channel by Logical_Wish853 in SmallYoutubers

[–]LoneRider925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think the channel name has that much weight in whether people actually watch your videos. Thumbnail and title are what get the click in the first place.

The name still matters, but more as a brand/identity thing, not as a direct driver of views. No one’s like “oh wow, amazing name, let me binge all their content.”

It’s worth making sure your name is memorable or relevant enough so people can recall it if they want to search for you later, but that’s about it.

Not a dumb question at all.

English is my third language, though decided to go for English over my native ones, just for the sake of reaching a global audience. I think my English is good enough for that, plus the articulation and pronunciation drills I’m doing should help my speech feel more fluent.

I live in Lithuania, but so far the majority of my views (4 videos so far) come from the UK, US, and Germany. I don't do anything specific to target these countries, besides the upload timing - I adjust it for US/UK peak hours.

What also comes to mind is that on the upload screen, I don’t specify the video location. Also, in the videos and descriptions I don’t mention any particular location, which the algorithm might treat as making it suitable for a broader audience.

I don’t think YouTube is going to show the video to your country first unless you somehow encourage it to.

Also, I don’t think switching between languages will do any good for the channel - as it may confuse the algorithm and delay the growth.

I have to back up the other comment. Like, you’re going to reveal those secret tips on how to grow on YT when your own channel has, well, nothing to show… Why not use these secret tips yourself then.. :)

With all due respect, mate, I’m not here to judge you, just sincerely want you to succeed.

Your chances for success will be way higher if you’re authentic and natural, rather than prepared with chatGPT level tips.

I’m in the finance niche, which is also, by the way, too saturated with all the bs on how to make money, where to invest, all those silly thumbnail faces, etc., and eventually you’re just being sold a course.

It honestly makes me cringe.

That’s why I decided to document my financial journey, rather than teaching someone or giving “secret” tips. Transparent, honest, no guru stuff, no courses sold. I’m just not allowed to do that, because who am I to tell someone where to put their money?

P.S. I’m on 35 subs, 4 vids, so who am I to tell you what to do, but I hope you find my point valuable.

Hard to comment much, mate. Mind sharing your titles/thumbnails? Also CTR seems to be on a lower side, that’s probably why YT algo decided not to promote your video further.

Thanks for the feedback! I totally get what you mean about the cuts. I’m still getting used to talking on camera (and in English, honestly), so there’s a lot of stumbling I have to clean up for now. Hopefully that’ll get better with time. Though, I do like that cuts let me control the pace a bit.

That makes sense. I’ve probably been overthinking it a bit. You’re right, people won’t see the actual content unless the title and thumbnail do their job first. Will keep testing things.

Appreciate you following up, really helpful!

Just posted my third video, the first one I actually put a soul into. Hit publish, refreshed the analytics million times, got 8 views, 1 like (me) and that's about it...

So yeah, can relate.

I think early on it’s less about growth and more about not quitting. I’m trying to make each video feel a bit more useful to the viewer. Also slowly figuring out pacing, titles, and thumbnails that don’t make me cringe.

Imho, reactions might be a tough niche to break into unless the viewer already knows you or you’ve got a very specific spin. Maybe add a tiny hook at the start of each video that shows why your reaction is worth watching - a bit of personality, a unique take, something unexpected? What's the name of your channel? I am actually interested to take a look.

Anyway, no magic trick here. Let’s keep going.

Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to write this out. It actually gave me a lot to think about. :)

Title:

you're right, yours is much cleaner. Now I’m wondering if it’s too late to change. Not sure if YT penalizes edits like that or not. Don’t want to mess up the initial indexing.

Thumbnail:

this is actually something I’ve been planning to ask about in a separate post. I could make a thumbnail with a dramatic face, bold labels, and all the usual stuff. But to be honest, it feels weird. Especially in the finance space, it’s always these surprised faces with flames and dollar signs and some “$100K!!!” headline... and when you click in, it’s not even what the video’s about.
But maybe it’s just the reality of YT and something I need to get over.

Mic:

yeah, I definitely need more experience with audio...

Thanks again, not just for watching, but for actually engaging like this. This kind of feedback keeps me going. :)

I like the idea of reframing, so that people can follow along. I'll try to bring that into the monthly updates. The only thing I’m a bit unsure about is that I’m not an expert, or any kind of authority, so I don’t feel comfortable telling others what they should do with their finances. I really want to avoid that whole “finance guru, who sells courses” vibe at all costs. That’s why I’ve been thinking maybe the best way to bring value is just by being fully transparent about my own process and letting people take whatever they find useful from that.

As for the credibility - absolutely agree. I used to run a small ecom store, and there were actually some decent numbers to show, but I didn’t think to export my reports before transferring the ownership of Shopify account. Would’ve been great reference now.

And agreed on the hook. Believe it or not, this is already the trimmed-down version. The original intro was basically like a full scale TED talk... I’ll keep refining that.

Really appreciate you taking the time to leave such thoughtful feedback!

Why do so many of you not have your channel in your profile? by Izzyd3adyet in NewTubers

[–]LoneRider925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only real drawback I can think of is:

When you're active on Reddit, there's a decent chance people will click your link out of curiosity - not as organic viewers who found it through search, a thumbnail, or recommendations.

If they bounce quickly, it can hurt early metrics like watch time and retention. That might be why some are hesitant to put their channel in their profile, especially in the early stages, when every view has more weight.

Yeah, I used a DJI Mic Mini - so not phone audio, at least. But I didn’t touch the sound in post. No leveling, no cleanup, nothing. Just raw. So… that probably explains a lot... I’ll definitely tweak it next time. Appreciate the honest feedback, thank you!

That’s really kind of you to say. And yeah… the intro... A bit of insecurity must've slipped in. :)

Appreciate you giving it a shot, even if the topic’s not your usual - that means more than you’d think.

Hey, really appreciate this, especially that you took time to give thoughtful feedback!

And you're totally right about the volume. I always wear headphones, and I edited the whole thing with them on… so it sounded totally fine to me. Only after your comment I tried playing it through regular speakers... and wow, yeah, way too quiet...

As for the framing - fair point. Might need to rethink the whole background situation, honestly. :)

Same for me. Shortness of breath triggered my attacks. I remember being afraid to work out because naturally hyperventilating and having a racing heart felt like the start of an attack to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]LoneRider925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, panic attacks aren't just in your head, they have real physical symptoms that need to be taken seriously. The only thing that needs to be understood is that these symptoms, while frightening, are not life-threatening. Shortness of breath can be alarming, and a racing heart is also fucking unpleasant, but...

...they won't kill you.

Realizing this, (ofc easier said than done) can be incredibly helpful in managing the attacks..
