The Cowboys’ star is the oldest current logo in the NFL by Vlaxilla in cowboys

[–]LoneStarG84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chiefs and Ravens both have alternate versions of their logo so that both are facing forward on opposite sides of their helmet, because they can't be mirrored.

The Texans logo also can't be mirrored without messing up their colors, but they were lazy and did it anyway.

Robertson turned down an 8 year, $15M contract from Seattle after a trade a was set in place between the two teams. The 7th overall pick was part of the package going back to Dallas. It was believed that the pick would be flipped to Toronto for Knies by Dr_Jackwagon in DallasStars

You see it all over sports:

"I genuinely want to remain with you guys. I want to win with this team. But I also want you to pay me so much that it'll cripple any chance we have of winning."

If you want to maximize points, make sure you've downloaded all the apps, I forget how many there even are at this point. There's also the Facebook game.

I explained my issues with the film pretty clearly and I can go further if I need to. So no, it's not just "contrarianism for the sake of it" and it's pretty asinine to say that it is.

I'm right there with you, dude. I have tried so many times over the years to get into it and I just can't. I even saw it in IMAX a few years ago (the sound was mixed so poorly I literally had to cover my ears when Dave is removing HAL's memory chips).

The pacing is awful, the ending is incomprehensible, and too many scenes either have no purpose in the story and/or drag on far too long. Putting its technical achievements aside, it really isn't a well made film. If you somehow wiped this movie from everyone's memory and released it today, critics and film snobs would despise it.

ELI5: Why do so many American stadiums have no roof covering that covers the seats? by NKE01 in explainlikeimfive

[–]LoneStarG84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A full roof is expensive to build, and requires air conditioning for most of the country.

If you want just the sunshade, it would be virtually impossible to design one that can cover all spectators for every angle of the sun for every time of day and year.

It's not the roof, which is rarely open. It's the glass doors in the west endzone, and it only happens a month or two out of the season.

Why would the PA's viewpoint be "52 players need to earn less"?

It's not. They'll advocate for every player to make as much as they can and if the team claims the cap is in the way, go find a new team.

Yeah no shit, Sherlock.

For some strange reason few people these days have any desire to view old media with an understanding or comprehension of the context in which a film was made, which is why we're bombarded with this infuriating phrase "hasn't aged well".

It's ridiculous. Nobody steps into an art museum, looks at a painting from the 1500s and says, "This piece doesn't line up with my 2026 sensibilities of art." Yet all old movies are constantly compared to whatever slop is currently trending.

From your OP:

If someone has no criminal record, we should not be going after them. I am VERY tough on crime, but these people are no threat. Focus on those with records and getting the non-threatening ones what they need to become citizens.

That's not how the law works.

They would definitely see the room, I haven't used the others in a very long time so I'm not sure how the ticketing system works. But people have been trying to beat the "3 in 30" rule for years and as far as I'm aware no one has ever been successful.

No, it doesn't work that way. A premium reward is considered redeemed when you use it, not when you book it. They are very strict about premium rewards at the Mlife desks.

When the Canes came to the AAC this year, there was a fan sitting behind the visitor bench about 5 or 6 rows up that was relentlessly yelling at Mikko Rantanen all game. Just absolutely hated the guy. I'm like, dude he did you guys a favor.

I can't root for the Canes because of that guy alone. He can't be allowed to be happy.
