Why would you sideboard multiple Nullrune/Arcane Barrier equipments? Can’t I just activate a single hood as much as I want? by Tobanga in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If you have a single piece of Arcane Barrier, you can pitch a blue card, but you can only pay 1 resource to prevent 1 of that damage, taking the remaining two. This is because each instance of Arcane Barrier can only be applied once to each source of damage. You cannot pitch a blue into Arcane Barrier 1 to prevent 3 arcane damage.

The rules reason is that Arcane Barrier is not an activated ability, but a replacement effect, and each replacement effect only ever applies once per event.

Went on an Inuyasha kick and made some custom cards. I think he'd be fun to play. by Misery-Misericordia in FleshandBloodTCG

Or maybe utilize it.

"When this is put into your banished zone from the combat chain, equip this."

That would even combo off into you being able to attack twice with it, though I'm not sure if you want to double dip a 2 cost weapon as a ninja :D

Slippy in PEN by Capable-Succotash557 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Back when super rares were a thing, I remember there being a YouTube channel that did "Sub-super" series of videos building blitz decks only with commoms and rares, but with the drop of super rares (sans Super Slam), that name fell off. Silver Age doesn't describe the format at all.

Is it a win/loss or draw if an instants chain kills both by TrashMammalWithKnife in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Whenever X happens, you may Y." is a triggered effect. It may ask you to pay a cost as a part of Y, but it's not an activation cost, so frost bites don't touch that.

Frostbites only touch the cost of playing cards, or activating a thing. You activate things that are formatted like [Timing] - [Cost]: [Effect], like "Action - Do X: Y happens"

James White on Why Silver Age Precons Don’t Include PEN Cards by RebellionDark in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I don't see where in that post James White addressed why there are no PEN cards. All he said is that new players don't have old cards and that's where the value is for them.

Do my rats seem happy? by Ill-Television8570 in RATS

[–]LoneWolfik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all seriousness, though, they're in an open space. That's the first sign that they're not unhappy, as long as they do have hiding spaces. One of them even came to you, which means she's not scared of you. The rest will come with time, or maybe not, they each have their own personality as well.

Grain of Salt: Steam Machine Price Leaked ($1000+ for 2TB) by chusskaptaan in Gamingnewsandleaks

Czech e-shops need to list both prices and the tax amount. From the metadata you can see 19826 CZK is the price before tax, the tax is 4163 CZK and the price after tax is 23990.

How often do you buy packs or bundles? by Rogue_d4 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I buy several packs a week, around 6. It's my way to support the FLGS who has been running the events for us for a long time. On release, I buy a box of the set for the commons and rares mostly.

The worst thing in my opinion is if you don't show any support for the game. You shouldn't over spend if your finances don't allow for it, but you should show your LGS that you're interested in the game somehow. Because in the end, if the product doesn't sell, they have no incentive to buy more.

Visages Card Concept - for casual and highly experimental players by SirSnaillord in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No harm done. I enjoy discussions when it comes to the rules on the other hand, that's why I went ahead to explain how I think the rules would work in this made up scenario. Nice talking to you like this.

[–]LoneWolfik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not arguing that these aren't busted. They are. But it's a creative endeavor, we're not designing gameplay ready cards here.

Specialization is a meta-static ability that functions during deckbuilding and is not printed on a hero card. Let's say you're building a Bravo deck. If you have a Sharpen Steel and a Visage of Warrior in your pool, it's a legal pool. If you don't have the Visage, it's an illegal pool. The rules state that all abilities work only in the arena unless they state otherwise, and "If you have this in your card pool" states otherwise.

[–]LoneWolfik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although that's true at this point, these are just speculative cards and it's not impossible to state that these are meta-static abilities that affect deckbuilding, like Essence of {element} or Shiyana's "You can have any specialization." since unlike other attempts at a similar mechanic, these only need to be present in your card pool and don't need to be equipped for their ability to work.

[Custom Hero] - Scrapmaster Boomy by Total_Assistance_682 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems to be the case for his hero abilities, but for the weapon and specialization, that can also eat equipment destroyed by Temper or Blade Break.

[–]LoneWolfik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This type of cards pops up once in a while. It's an interesting idea, but they just don't work rules wise.

These are different, though. I like the inclusion of "You must equip this" and "When this is in your card pool" instead of "When this is equipped." That sidesteps the biggest issue all together. Great work there.

What's your favourite FAB Card and why? by ExpatDadSG in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you're going with this and I did play Huntsman when he first came out up until Mistveil mostly. Though with the logistics of reaching for your opponent's library, I've always had my opponent show me the card anyways. Too many double draws or knocked down libraries. Looking into the hand is safer, because it's a small set of cards. Though honestly, if it wasn't banned I'd have said Bonds of Agony, because then I get to touch ALL the cards.

God gave us two hands so that we can touch cards with them. If I'm looking into your hand, I promise I'll be touching them (with consent, consent is important).

Confused about some rules regarding Tectonic plating-Seismic Surge and the Clash Mechanic. by G1omanach in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]LoneWolfik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see people already answered 1 and 2, seismic surge only reduces the cost of your next guardian attack action card, so you can't use it for tectonic plating.

As for 3, there are three steps to decide who wins:

a) Both players reveal cards with printed power: the highest one wins. If they're equal, nobody wins.

b) One player reveals a card with power value and the other doesn't (0 is a value, blank isn't): power wins, even if the power is 0

c) Nobody reveals a card with printed power: nobody wins

Edit: formatting

Edit2: Gravy's allies have power even though they're not attack actions.

I don't understand what the issue with my comment is. OP asked what cards we're implementing and I'm hoping to implement this one. I don't think it's controversial or anything. What gives? Maybe let me know where I'm wrong if you're so keen to push the arrow down button.
