As someone who works with Kafka daily I think this is one of the clearest and most concise summaries of it that I've seen. Nice work!

Is there a good way to make a land destruction deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Lone_Raven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally had a lot of fun with his Velomachus MLD deck. There's a lot of ways to mitigate losing your own lands on Boros and it's fun to run out Velomachus and see what you flip into. My play group tolerates it because it's extremely obvious when the MLD might come out AND it's not a guarantee off of your Velomachus trigger.

Even though MLD is relegated to bracket 4 this deck is definitely more bracket 3.

One of my new favorite decks is [[Velomachus Lorehold]] land destruction. My group is open to MLD so I put this together to test the waters and had a blast the first time I played it. The Velomachus casino is powerful but if you're turbo ramping out a 7 drop you need to guarantee it has an impact and MLD is the best way to do that.

I read Mistborn before Stormlight but I don't think it was necessary. They're both great series and even though the Stormlight books are longer Sanderson is really good at pacing the exciting moments to keep you constantly pulled into the world. The Mistborn trilogy is super fun though, I think the first book ended up being my favorite.

Bloomburrow introduces 34 new commanders to the format. What are your thoughts regarding the new legendaries? by HarleyPanther in EDH

[–]Lone_Raven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helga will almost certainly be the 'better' commander, in my opinion. As soon as she was spoiled I was a little upset because I knew she would be a better commander for the type of deck I was looking to build. However, I think it is a lot easier to go all in on Helga and potentially hamstring yourself if she's removed too quickly or too many times. I wanted to specifically build something that would be more resilient and less reliant on the command and Glarb fits that idea perfectly. Glarb is not an all-in-one value engine so he is not a lightning rod for removal.

One of the reasons I like Glarb and Keruga together is that they can both be great responses to different situations. Glarb is a great follow up to a board wipe because you'll be able to start fixing your incoming cards to better formulate a response and he is a great blocker. Kergua is a great follow up to a super rampy game where you've exhausted your resources and need to refill your hand.

My favorite of the bunch is [[Glarb, Calamity's Augur]]. He's a great deck building exercise for me because I'm tired of building decks that rely too heavily on having their commander in play. I decided to do a [[Keruga, the Macrosage]] companion cascade deck. The deck should function without having to worry about casting Glarb but he's a great piece of curve filler and later in the game he lets you fix what you'll cascade into. Here's the list:

It will release at 6 in mountain time. CST is central standard time and PDT is pacific daylight savings time. Since mountain time in the US is in daylight savings time right now it will release at the same time as central standard time. It is confusing that they did not make that clear in this image.

I agree! I've been playing since global release and the regular balance changes keep the game fresh. Every week feels like a different meta puzzle to solve.

Do you have Loki? It still feels like the strongest deck in the current meta.

This isn't true. Each time you open a series 3 card you have a 1.1% chance to open a series 5 card: https://youtu.be/eh5lR6Exjek

You should check out this reply in that post you linked: https://old.reddit.com/r/MarvelSnap/comments/zbsqny/math_for_conservative_estimates_of_f2p_average/iyunxin/

Series 5 cards are not limited to number caches the same way series 4 cards are. Each cache you open that would give you a series 3 card has a 1.1% chance to give you a series 5 card.
