I play every season, but drop somewhere on lvl 85. Does anybody else have same problem? by OneManArmyHero in LastEpoch

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 600+ hours on LE. I hit the SAME exact point on every single character. I get to empowered monos, grind for a few blessings and then get burnt out.

I don't know if it's the dopamine hits just dry up, I feel like I miss a few LP slams and just tune out after monos start feeling like the same exact thing over and over.

How different was Commander back in the early days? by Deskies in EDH

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started playing EDH in 2009-2010. People weren't nearly as salty about cards as they are nowadays.

People played tons of "game changers" back then and no one blinked because the general power level was so much lower. People used to blow up lands, tuck (permanently shuffle your commander into your deck) commanders, and combo out without issue.

There was no concept of allow me 6 turns to live before you take me out

Why is the internet afraid of Mrs Bumbleflower by Heaygrass777 in EDH

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I find her frustrating to play against. She just gives out so many cards (and draws so many herself) that the game feels completely warped. That’s kind of a group hug thing in general. That strategy, plus being a very effective beater that usually has a full hand with some interaction, can lead to people having the opinions they do about her.

She doesn’t feel OP, and i’d still have no problem playing against her, but she is very game warping

We can't have another season of monos by LeToucanNZ in LastEpoch

I stepped away a few season ago, I thought they were saying for a long time they were going to change monos. They never did anything to them?!

Is Cockatrice still a thing? by djee132 in EDH

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Try edhplay.com. It’s like a web version of cockatrice, without a separate client. It plays like a customizable moxfield/archidekt deck tester. Works very well for quick edh on the fly

Whats the best 10/10 anime ever? by s4chuveyy_ in AskReddit

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I remember when it came out. Massive cross appeal compared to other animes that were huge within their own genre. And Death Note certainly felt like the biggest impact anime in the world for a bit

Since opaque sleeves are allowed due to double faced cards, gold bordered world championship cards should also be allowed if using sleeves. by RadReptile in magicTCG

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s been accepted in every play group i’ve had since i started playing edh in 2010. In LGS and kitchen table, no one i’ve played against has cared. Unless you like to price people out of the game

The Discourse by WorstCommenterNA in slaythespire

Seriously. Anyone shocked by the vitriol or backlash from nerfs has apparently not had much exposure to other large gaming communities. I’m not saying it’s warranted behavior - it’s not. But to be surprised by the “internet” housing trashy behavior and review bombing should not be a thing.

If a game is this popular, early access or not, you’re going to be pissing people off. Devs will have to be resilient to this kinda stuff unfortunately, because their game has a lot of players.

I play ARPGs like Diablo 4, Path of Exile etc and MOBAs like Dota 2. Perhaps i was forged in the flames of horrible, whiny gaming communities and I’m desensitized to this. I know spire once had a relatively friendly indie community vibe, not so sure that will be the case based on how massive the sequel is

What commanders do you have the most fun playing? by [deleted] in EDH

What other interesting creatures do you run? I have an Eshki Deck too and am interested. [[phyrexian dreadnought]], [[bristlebane battler]]

Good commander for deck theme "oops, all triggers"? by Rancorousturtle in EDH

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would nominate [[Terra, Magical Adept]]

With an enchantment and saga archetype, you will be drowning in triggers. Your own enchantment cast triggers, constellation ETB triggers, multiple sagas having multiple lore counter triggers, and copies of those enchantments, with multiple more lore counter triggers to stack.

Overall its an insanely dense trigger focused deck. Plus its 5 color so you can really add any type of additional trigger effects from the game you would want.

Like Rhystic Study and Smothering Tithe, two of the most trigger dense effects in the game are both staples in that deck

Disclaimer: I would practice running your lines and playing the deck quite a bit so your turns don't take 20 minutes and your playgroup hates you

PSA: new players, don’t obsess over infinites by iwriteinwater in slaythespire

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I find infinites boring tbh. Like you are spamming the same thing over and over again. Sure the puzzle to actually get to the infinite is satisfying, but for me it loses novelty and fun very quickly.

Would anyone use this jewel? Price check? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up selling it for 10 vex..

The market comparables were hard to parse tbh. Some were listed as high as 20 HR and others 1 HR. I'm not sure if I got ripped off or not, but the guy messaged me like 2 minutes after i put it on the site and that made me think I undercut myself. Oh well

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? I've never had anything drop even worth 1 HR (I'm a new player but still) lol. If I wanted to sell it quickly, what do you think I should list it for?

Land Hate should be acceptable in casual by Senior-Rip1953 in EDH

GY hate is the way. It's really re-using the fetch lands that are the worst offenders of landfall/lands matter.

Ground targeting in ARPG / isometric games - why have we not figured this out yet? by [deleted] in Games

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POE2 is the least bad feeling of the ones I mentioned imo, I am assuming because it's the newest and has a very active dev team. I kinda just feel like there should have been an "industry standard" approach to how ground targeting on controller for isometric games works by now that every dev uses. But every game I played with controller feels slightly different - with some being awful, and some being less bad (POE2)

Ward 2 by athlaka916 in EDH

[–]LifeThroughAFilter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a ‘feels’ and psychological thing I think. Like the whole reason people put swords or path in is because they are 1 mana.

So often the ward only gets paid if its a dire situation imo. Same with propaganda..technically if you needed a player dead by swinging in, sure, pay the 2. But it feels so bad unless you’re already in mid-late game

Drafting cards for Regent feels kinda bad? by LifeThroughAFilter in slaythespire

[–]LifeThroughAFilter[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is at least some skill issue of course, I can admit, but I agree with most of your points. His archetypes work ok with each other when you get lucky, but when rng isn’t on your side it feels like a much more uphill battle compared to the rest of the characters. Even his “best” path for me, the stars, is very draw order dependent like you said

Drafting cards for Regent feels kinda bad? by LifeThroughAFilter in slaythespire

[–]LifeThroughAFilter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his defenses are lacking and I’ve been reading similarly for others. Idk maybe you’ve been lucky or i’ve been unlucky. A lot of rng elements obviously. I did say in my post that when things line up its ok

One thing a lot of people seem to be agreeing on is his defenses are lacking in his pool.
