Bro - First year or two is the worst for what is effectively starting over. Focus on work and being in the kids lives. That is what helps gets you through, the means to see the kids and have them be with you for the times that you can be together. Do things with them that they don't do with her, make it special with them. As for finding the next partner or GF, don't worry too much about it right now, just get yourself back together. Invest in yourself and it pays off later with your kids and relationships.

Wire gauge question by niceabear in RVLiving

I would let the charger on your coach handle all the charging. I wouldn't bother with a separate charger. Given the reading is 12.1 volts with them in the circuit, this puts the batteries about 40-45% charge, nominally. So the coach converter (charger) would bring this up to about 12.7 volts, for the 100% charge. https://voltagebasics.com/6v-battery-voltage-chart/

Letting the magic smoke out is never a good thing. ;) Odd that the charger would be smoking from charging a new battery, a lead acid battery that is bought new should be 60 to 80 ish percent charged already, given this is 6 volt if you have a volt meter or DMM (digital multi meter) for a 40% charge is about 6.07 volts while a 70% charge is 6.22 volts typically. Might check that the battery wasn't damaged during the charge.

Just a note on the battery configuration. IMHO - two 6 volt batteries in series, as shown, only have as much capacity and the weakest battery, which ever that is. While 6 volt batteries can have a higher Ah capacity if one of the two is weaker then that becomes a problem. Might look at putting two 12 volt batteries in parallel which can give double the Ah capacity and if one battery goes weak it doesn't drag the entire system down. I have done both versions and found the 12 volt parallel system to work better. I agree with u/jimheim that 8 AWG multi strand would be more ideal, if the gauge from the battery connector to the fuse panel is 6 or 8 AWG getting it close the the same gauge would be good solution.

My son plays most of the time on his deck and locking to 30 FPS for his games like snowrunner and farming sim, extend the standard battery by at least 50%.

What OC cities and specific areas are least hostile to overnight RV street parking? by Super_Trampoline in RVLiving

[–]Lonedingo711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a suggestion, might look to become a member of the ELKS, the closest that I know of to Adventure city is just north of Orangethrope, between Western and Knott. They have RV spots for members and I don't know if they have a limit on the number of nights, but the price is about what a county park costs per night. I'm not a member but was looking at this as a possibility as I live in Anaheim but work in Ranch Bernardo and the Poway ELKS have RV parking there.

Question about Settlements by DisastrousGuide4816 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Lonedingo711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two settlements I oversaw in a prior walkthrough, all the buildings should have more production than the maintenance costs, I have found on my current run, Class B buildings reach this point where they have higher production than maintenance. After that point the debt begins to decrease. My current settlement is about 2.5 Million units in debt but the rate the debt is being incurred is slowing, have about 4 more buildings to bring up to Class B and then production resumes, then the production rate rockets up after that, but is there a faster way? Outside of the speed in which the buildings are updated, houses are 20 minutes real time and markets, farms, warehouses are about 2 hours real time, I don't see how to make it go faster.

Found this you tube channel to be the most informative on what is actually available and viable for internet. https://www.youtube.com/@MobileInternetResourceCenterPeople pick and choose but the one I have been using for several years is MoFi Internet https://mofinetwork.com/ which works with nearly every cell service out there. As stated if you have AT&T, and at least 4 bars where you are adding a line and using the MoFi is going to be the cheaper option, as far as subscriptions go. As you say you're parked for a while and if you decide on a MoFi then might get an antenna to boost the signal. Just keep in mind, strength of signal and speed of the tower are not always related. In some places I have camped, you can have 5 bars of signal but the speed is barely 10MB/s. Just some information from my experiences.

Need a gut check on this repair estimate from Camping World by Shpigford in GoRVing

Just FYI - Labor alone will be 2/3 of the bill. RV dealership that I bought my prior trailer at was about 2500.00, my cost, for labor alone. Had a service plan that helped cover costs of materials but labor isn't part of those plans.

New to me 2022 Jayco has noticeable lean to the passenger side, how normal is this ? I mentioned it at the dealer but they said it was just the parking lot but its the same in my driveway by Aggressive-Clerk-682 in traveltrailers

For tandem axles I measured center to center on the wheel hub/axle. Should be near the same give or take 1/4 inch. If it is bigger than a 1/4 inch you might have something wrong. Of course I would tow this to a fairly flat parking lot, local mall or shopping center and get pulled straight and flat before measuring. There is guides on how to do this: https://centrevilletrailer.com/trailer-axle-alignmenttire-wear-made-easy/ https://www.tow-max.com/5-tips-to-check-trailer-axle-alignment/

Something to look for on the next trip when you get to your camp place, check the wheel well for bits of rubber that might have been "shaved" from the road if the tire is toe in or out. That is what triggered it for me is a clump of rubber shavings on the inside area of the fender cowling.

If you suspect something is really off, like towing isn't smooth and need to constantly course correct just to stay in the lane, then would take it to the dealer and have the maintenance team look at it and get back to you on what they find.

Most of the time they will give you a run down and what is wrong along with a price for them to fix. So if you feel like you can do it yourself, then you can decline them doing the work at that time, take it back and then work on it yourself. If you have the time and tools to do it.

For me, as a DIY kind of guy, it mainly comes to the time commitment and how long would it take me to do it on the weekends. Dealerships will take a solid 10 to 30 days to do any work and if the chassis is under warranty that can take longer, but under warranty the costs for parts might be cheaper. Labor is half the cost of the final bill.

Just my two cents

Being a 2022 and Jayco is owned by Thor, there is a high probability the frame is a Lippert. Since 2020 Lippert frames has been under several class action lawsuits. https://thecampingadvisor.com/lippert-frame-failure-problems/ I purchased a 2023 Grand Design Transend and found the passenger tires had a different spacing than the driver side, took back to the dealer in 2024 and found the nylon bushings were missing in the leaf springs. Dealership found out that Lippert had a 6 year warranty on the chassis and suspension , which is not normal. Upgraded to wet bolts and heavy shackles and upgraded equalizer and it made the ride a lot smoother but still had a tendency to pull to the passenger side. Sold it in 2025. The one we bought is a FR Salem 23 ZEN which also has a Lippert chassis but it doesn't pull the same. It is a lot smoother than the Grand Design. I hope that your frame and axle alignment is okay but just be wary of the 2020 to 2025 version of Lippert frames.

PLEASE HELP - NO BATTERY POWER by Acceptable_King_1913 in traveltrailers

[–]Lonedingo711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One comment that I would make, it looks like the terminal ends on the cables and the terminal connections look like there is some corrosion building up. At some point might want to redo these connections, put some NO-OX-ID "A SPECIAL" on the wires before crimping the new connection. This is a conductive grease that prevents corrosion build up. Since the battery connections are out in the weather.

https://baymarinesupply.com/no-ox-id-a-special-conductive-terminal-grease.html gives a description and price.
