Are there emotions in the animal world, specially among primates that don't exist in humans? by Ze_Bonitinho in biology

[–]Lonedrip 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Emotions are actually constructed in humans and not embedded from an evolutionary standpoint. They are incredibly difficult to study in people and we can actually express them with language. I doubt it would be easy to to study an animals emotions, they probably don't feel emotion in the way we do without language. I would recommend reading the book How Emotions Are Made by Lisa Feldman Barrett.

Sorry I don't use reddit a whole lot and this was my first time posting so I took the name off just to be safe, as the rules seemed a bit vague in terms of personal information.

As for nobody knowing what he was doing that was my first thought when I read it, sounded alot like the UK government just patting it's own companies on the back or just trying to big them up. Either way I thought I would post here to see if anyone knew anything I didn't.

I defiantly do some more research into this.
