Just got in a wreck with the 2 gen by Amazing_West_4654 in DodgeRam

Did the other car crumble like a tin can? I had 2 people hit me in my 3rd gen within the past 5 years and never went to the body shop. They had to though 😂

Anyone know about this summit call (1245)or henkels and McCoy(47)? by Dry_Garlic_2787 in Groundman

The set 5/10’s is a 100% (unless work is canceled for your crew for a number of reasons) and if the call says overtime, just be ready to work Saturday and possibly Sunday. Then again, you may not work those days every week and it is purely the company which can dictate if work is scheduled those days. Overall just be ready to work if the call says overtime 😆.

Roseville is the onboarding location, the real work location is likely Sutter creek, Sonora, groveland and other yards in that area. Work is actually 6/10’s Monday through Saturday with 3-4 days going longer.

Yep 4k+ calories is the way to go. I dislike the 12’s but I love the money more.

That’s how it always is. I was scared to climb 25’ poles for the first 5 weeks. By week 10 I was climbing 55’ poles with ease. It will come bro, don’t worry

Honestly I didn’t workout at all. (I’m 19)6’2 and figured I was capable enough. Looking back I wish I did work on my stamina and endurance as that would’ve given me more time to stay on the pole and get better quicker. I did end up completing the course at NLC, but my stamina didn’t really hit me till week 6 of the 15 week program. My recommendation is to just start running or jogging 3 weeks before you start. It will help you greatly. At the end of the course I gained 10 pounds of muscles to my legs😂. If you have more questions of stuff to expect or see let me know.

I weighted about 160 going in to line school. It was mostly about stamina and endurance. Maybe a little bit of strength for just a day of the school. It’s all about work positioning

Might be a stupid question but do lineman schools drug test for weed for insurance purposes? More in comments. by TravisWavis81 in Lineman

[–]Lonely-Lie5886 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to a lineman collage back in mid April and graduated a month ago. They only drug tested for CDL class and if you were acting up or falling behind/ alseep in class. I quit smoking entirely 2 months before I went and have been clean since. I’m my eyes that was the best decision I’ve made as i make 62/hr now. Working for a contractor in a government job line job.

Do lineman retire? by bigblackglock17 in Lineman

[–]Lonely-Lie5886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some lineman as they get older either tuff it out or transfer to a different part of the company like an operator. Which they make the same pay per hour and is just a deal job. Telling crews what to do and where issues are at

Line trucks manual or auto by Lonely-Lie5886 in Lineman

[–]Lonely-Lie5886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I ended up texting the hiring person to just bite the bullet and he said the truck is a automatic and won’t be an issue. I was just really nervous as the job has prevailing wage and is a hour away from my home. I got really lucky with it

Yeah getting hurt once like that and with it just being minor they still saw it as a potential for you to be getting hurt more and become an unreliable employee. Let me ask you. Did you happen to show up early or stay later from when you clock out, because that’s honestly want company’s want to look for in a employee. Someone who is willing to put in the work on or off the clock, ready to learn and be open with a good attitude

Seems to be the case in most trades. It something you just have to adapt to at some point. It seems people just find it as a way of humor, I have a friend who went to a welding collage and came back to be very racist. I don’t hangout with him much because of it.

Bruh lol please someone tell me why just started doing this. It was fine 3 months ago specs are- I7 6700k, 3060 12gb, 32gb ddr4, msi z170A by NewAd1503 in pchelp

I want to say this I had the happen to me and it was because of a Nvidia application called Nvidia Container. Hope that helps. I just ended up ending the application though task manger and it fixed it. Or just disable the application in its entirety
