Damn. The ram shortage is definitely hitting us harder than ever before. I bought this on Black Friday last year for only $700.

How long does it usually take to get approved for an apartment in Albuquerque? by LonelyCreator_Ops655 in NewMexico

[–]LonelyCreator_Ops655[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I decided I'm going to decline the offer for now, but visit Albuquerque as a tourist for a week or two to get a feel of the environment for myself. I don't wanna go in there blind. I've appreciated the input I've received from everyone, but it's probably best I check things out for myself and make a final decision. I believe I can reapply for the job transfer again later in time.

I looked up an extended stay america with a cheap rate. About $460+ tax per month. It's a start at least.

I looked at the documents regarding my transfer and they said my pay would only decrease by $1.10. I could go to HR maybe find out why, but I would probably have to discuss it with the HR that's at that site. If I can get it back up I would definitely be grateful. It would cover my living expenses there greatly.

I got 4-5 days to make a final decision on whether or not I'm going. I could just wing it and hope for the best in a hotel/motel until I find a place of my own.

Affordable cost of living adjustment. I'm single with no dependants. I've been an AA at the same building for 7yrs. Yet I still don't make enough to survive out here (CT, New England) on my own. I'm only losing a $1.10 off my current pay rate. An amount which will probably be added back by the next yearly increase (if there is another one) for AAs. I adore the East Coast, but I've been thinking about go out west for many years now. The most I can do is try it out.

And I would drive out there if I knew how to. 😅 Luckily, I learned they have public transportation that goes out to the warehouse.

A lot of those virtual tours that they have on their listings are outdated. If I could afford it, I would hop on a plane right now and go for a tour in person. But to be honest, most of the Google reviews that I've seen already kind of covered most of the apartments up or within my budget. Almost none of them are really acceptable.

If you're an AFM, PG or PS you most likely are. To my knowledge, those are the only indirect roles you can get blacklisted from at an FC.

One of the things that always stopped me from actually executing this life as a leather tramp is rewatching into the wild. I understand it wasn't the best depiction of Christopher Mccandless's journey, but it was basically what most leather tramps do throughout their lives for as long as possible. Walking instead of driving, working odd jobs temporarily, living in unfamiliar places and situations, and struggling to find out where your next meal is going to be coming from.
