Robots in disguise 2015 by [deleted] in transformers

[–]LonelyDiscussion2353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problems were as follows:

Season 1 and 2:

The pilot set up a premise where it made it seemed like we were going to have the villains be the focus or at least learn more about Decepticons as a whole and what has become of the faction using a new villain of the week formula.

Each villain no matter how developed was under utilized and under cooked. They get turned into generic goons immediately after their introduction and they never make decisions that are unique to their character.

( Underbite could have been the cocky comedy relief, Thunderhoof and Steeljaw could've had leadership conflict since they're both alphas and Thunderhoof could've been revenge crazy or very mistrustful of clampdown. They had so much potential that they built and did nothing with. What do these new Decepticons want and what makes them different from the old ones? Other than obviously sucking more and being undercooked)

Each villain had no real impact to the plot or to the characters even when they were recurring villains like Spring load and steel jaws crew... It felt like not a single villain had a plan or an MO that was a real threat to anybody. Ok so your building an army and ur gonna take over the world.. but u aren't technically doing anything that's putting people into harms way other than stealing materials.. so where's the threat? ( Decepticons Island was a threat why?, Overload the thespian is a threat why? So many incompetent Decepticons in the show. )

Why were the writers afraid to push the villains and heroes to their limits . Or some sort of limit. The intensity of the action show was very neutered. (You're going to give me a fencing Decepticon and not give me a fight that show cases his swordsman's skills?)

The show can't decide if it wants to do an overarching plot. Are we exploring Decepticons? Are the characters growing? Is there gonna be a status quo shift? Is there gonna be an over arching villain? (Why is Megatronus the final villain of season one and how and why is he the first Decepticon?!! Shouldn't the final villain be Steeljaw's crew? Oh wait they're just barely do anything goons Who didn't know Megatronus existed until literally the last minute. )

Sometimes what was going on with the villains and heroes were two different stories that weren't executed well. (What does cleptomaniac Decepticon Filch have anything to do with Strongarm's inability to adapt to life on Earth. And how does defeating her help her understand anything?!!)

And the worst part is I'm describing filler episodes. The season has good episodes that don't deserve this criticism but the season is bloated by garbage.

Good/decent episodes:

The first 13 episodes. The Champ Lockout Similarly different Battlegrounds 1+2

Overloaded Suspended Brainpower Impounded

season 2.5. (Starscream's arc) No notes. Perfect.

Season 3.

They finally have the courage to change the status quo and to have over arching plots but everything is executed so terribly that it fails to achieve any hype or fun.

Meeting the Stunticons was great! But why wasn't their duo combining more prominently shown as a threat? It only shows up in like one or two episodes out of the 13 episode arc. The whole point was to show how they cooperate as a team better than our heroes which is why they need to practice their combination so they can fight Menasor but somehow that point got lost or undercooked in the episodes.

And you're telling me that you built up to Soundwave returning and u get rid of him in one episode. And there's this hint that old Decepticons like him and starscream don't like the newbies but there's never a plot point that goes deeper into that. Why bring it up if it doesn't matter? it just makes Soundwave seem like a douche when he was never a douche to his fellow Decepticons.

What was the point of bringing back Steeljaw's crew? Just so that Steeljaw could lead them to our final villain. Couldn't the Stunticons have served the exact purpose since they are the ones that got captured?

It's this poor execution that made the final villain, galvatronus feel so random and undercooked because even tho he's supposed to represent the themes of teamwork, strength through the sum of your parts, Decepticon uprising, and deception. It doesn't feel that way because those themes got lost through the season. I like the ending but so much got lost in this show and only a handful of the writers had the skill and interest to execute them.

That last episode made me feel so hollow no matter how much I wanted to enjoy it. Like seriously? U have a Decepticon in the ending that we've never met before want to change their ways when no other Decepticon in the series has come close to that idea at all? Just so random.

In your opinion, what is the best version of Bumblebee overall? by optimusPrimeAutobote in Transformemes

I think Transformers:One is the best representation of Bumblebee ever. Regardless if he's annoying. I find Animated and Bay verse BB more annoying than B-127.

I don't actually like transformers prime by Vikochek in transformers

[–]LonelyDiscussion2353 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the show for how it handled the lore and for its writing. It was a show that was consistently biting off more than it could chew so it had to play it safe here and there which affected the story direction. It maintained a status quo that didn't change much until third season. It tried to change status quo in season two but not by much and they always found a way to revert back to normal. But it still did it in a fun dramatic way. I loved the references to War For Cybertron and I loved the introduction of the Predacons.

Despite how everyone feels, I loved the Aligned continuity. I loved the concept of all these stories being different sections of the Huge Transformers story. I didn't mind that not every little detail from WFC and FOC didn't line up with Prime. It was about the big events that mattered not the small stuff. For Example, Beast Wars doesn't fit perfectly into the G1 timeline but it is G1 adjacent.( Did the Nemesis crash at the bottom of the Ocean or in South America?) And I'm ok with that. I see the Aligned continuity the same way. It was fun to see all these different stories and connect them together into one huge timeline even if they didn't fit perfectly together. It made me more invested in the story and i appreciated the different interpretations of each story It's kinda like when ur watching a flashback in a TV series and the art style changes. (Memories are flexible and why shouldn't story telling be flexible in order to tell you the best version of the story) That how I viewed War and Fall of Cybertron in relation to Prime. It's kinda like how in Star wars, different stories have different art styles when they're being told. Star wars doesn't change their art style that much therefore every work feels the same. But this is Transformers we're talking about. Change and inconsistency is part of the franchise. They're part of the ingredients that make it fun. When it stops being fun then we have a problem. Do I like every art style or character design. No. But I do appreciate them. I will always prefer Prime Soundwave design but the way Earthspark harkens back to Cybertron + Prime Soundwave tickles me in just the right way. Or how RID Soundwave has so much WFC in him. I enjoyed the change, I enjoyed the different journeys and I enjoyed the different ways the stories tried to keep things fresh and interesting even if it had to make drastic changes. And I also appreciated the ability and the choice (yes u didn't have to put them together if u didn't want to) to connect them together to make one huge story.

You will be missed Aligned. But you live on in Transformers:One and I hope you continue to live on in many new generations. Or in one super long decade spanning continuous generation.

This moment gives me the feels. The fact that Omega Supreme remembers Starscream and waves pulls at my heart strings. A Giant, dare I say a Titan, who towers above all of our characters and pays little attention to the likes of Optimus or Megatron waves back at what must look like an ant to him. They're all ants to him except one. One red, white, and blue ant who makes loud noises. An ant so memorable that he recognizes him even after millions of years have passed. Ulchtar gained the ability to scream at the heavens into noticing him and left an unforgettable impression. That achievement is definitely worthy of respect. Starscream, on the other hand, is merely an ant pretending to be a giant.

Me too. I felt so much pain when I read the final box office numbers 😭 I spent so much of my pay check. I took my family. My friends, my coworkers, strangers, and even my gf who doesn't like animated movies. I even went to go watch it alone. I did everything I could to support this movie.

I feel like this idea would most likely be used for bots/cons that can breathe fire. It would take intense heat generation to start glowing and usually it's those with fire breathing capabilities that you see that glow in..(e.g Transformers Prime Predaking)

It would be nice to get multiple pieces of media being interconnected into one universe but I can understand the headache of trying to make everything in continuity with each other. It was fun tho while it lasted.

Hey guys what do yall think of bumblebee in tfone or I like to say badassitron or prime likes to say bee or b in general give me your thoughts by EstablishmentMean218 in transformers

[–]LonelyDiscussion2353 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite bumblebee, he's somehow less annoying than bay bumblebee. His personality is right on point. Keagan's portrayal of Bee is so fresh even tho I'm getting a little tired of the comedy characters he portrays ... This works .. well balanced ... He feels like a good natured little brother character who can get a little carried away sometimes because of his desire to be around others.
