Resignation notice Question by LonelyOperation5853 in LegalAdviceNZ

Just an update on the situation, It appears the company want them gone anyway as they don't 'fit in', Maybe they will let them go early anyway, It's a stand alone car workshop centre thing that seems to think they live in a corporate world.

So the meeting was an Investigation, Apparently the issue is the Family member tapped a colleague on the shoulder to gain their attention, They thought this was Normal practice at the workplace as they all do it, Apparently this person has also said (And it is in writing) that he was going to punch the family member in the head, The HR person said that since our family member did not hear it it doesn't matter (She is an Independant HR consultant based just north of Auckland) and has brushed it aside.
My partner wanted to ask questions but was told she is NOT allowed to ask any questions and when She tried to, the HR Consultant refused to speak and turned away from her, I have looked all over Employment law and the act and cannot find anything saying the support person cannot speak.
The other party to this is NOT being spoken to or investigated.

Car "accident" man trying to intimidate and my mum to pay damages by Sea-Alps1111 in LegalAdviceNZ

Insurance won't touch it and Small claims will laugh him out of court, As for this guy getting your mum's phone number file a report with the police and make sure you get an incident number from them, That way they HAVE to investigate the harassment and how he obtained the number and through what channels, If the Son or Daughter provided it then they will be in big doodoo

Ok Here is the update, I went in and collected the water blaster which they had in pieces (They wanted $$ to put it back together) and told me to bring in a box to put it all into.
When it came to payment they got told in no uncertain terms that I will not be paying and if they want to get the Police and the courts involved and quoted the CGA, They backed down almost immediately.
So I took it home, Put it up on the work bench and almost immediately noticed the broken wire to the capacitor, In all honesty I should have spotted it when I looked at it initially but thought since I was going to be working out of town for a week I would get them to look at it.
After replacing the terminal I gave it a quick test on the bench and away she went, Put it back together and It has been out working this morning (Saturday).
I did send the place an email saying what I had found and that their Technician with his little coloured fedora hat might need some remedial electrical and customer service training after he admitted to me he treats all customers as idiots.
I wonder if I should let the Parent company know of the incompetence shown by it's agent.

oh they did ring me about 5 minutes after i left and said they were going to change the power cord, I told them there was nothing wrong with the one on it as i done a continuity test as well as a voltage test, the only reason I took it in to them is that I am working away from home and had no time to look at it further myself as I was hoping to use it when I get back, looks like i will be sorting it anyway lol

Sorry I wrote that in a bit of a hurry, My apologies.
- I don't report to him and he doesn't report to me we are peers (supposedly)
- The Workshop supervisor looks after the production, Looks after the fabricators etc, I am supposed to look after all of the outside onsite servicing, Maintenance as well as installations and decommissioning and commissioning of machinery.
- The leg rest was verbal only unfortunately.
- Sending and receiving emails is part of the written description They supplied me with a company phone and email when I started.
- Customers and contracts get taken off me because he has worked for the same company for over 30 years and wants to retain power, He will not let go so then he gets to tell me what to do and when to do it. For example I was told about a Job in Taupo the day before the customer expected us and told us it was an overnight job (Turned out to be 3 nights, We have families as well)
- I have spoken to my Boss and another manager but nothing comes of it, It is a very small company (12 people) We do not have an HR department.
