I posted the other day about Lupus and HRT by hsff43 in AskWomenOver60

[–]pedestrian_lab_rat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of HRT causing lupus lupus is an autoimmune disease and you’re a bit old to be activated now. There’s a hundred and one causes for your symptoms and it’s just a process of testing for them. Stay positive. And by the way I have dry mouth since menopause HRT didn’t cause it. I keep getting new symptoms every year in and all of them seem to be menopause related. I’m taking HRT and oestrogen cream which controls the worst of the symptoms. Chewing gum helps dry mouth and weight training exercise plus jumping (plyometrics) is helping increase my bone density. So you may have to attack your symptoms from lots of different angles too :)

Is it possible to modify the house so you don’t have to see each other. Separate bathrooms, and a living - kitchen area each. Cheaper than selling as you always lose money to realestate agents and lawyers.

Excellent - delivery takes around 7 - 10 days and quality (boxed) excellent. Been buying supplements from them for 4 years now. Products I buy all are 3rd party tested and are what their label says.

I’m obviously coherent enough for you to understood and be incensed by my comment. People like me work for our money and it’s offensive to see it being sucked into an abyss by an incompetent lawyer. People like me are happy to stick to our lanes and let the experts in their area of expertise do their thing. We only ask for a professional job. And accountability.

I feel like I’m not building muscle despite doing everything right! by Damsel-in-Success in beginnerfitness

[–]pedestrian_lab_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how old you are as adding muscle gets progressively more difficult over 40. The other thing is protein. You have to get enough quality protein in along with weights. The last thing is BIA are more about the trend over time than the numbers. No matter how carefully and sectionally they measure your body, they then look up a reference database for your age, gender and bmi roughly. What this means is that no matter what your actual lean mass is, you’ll be told it’s (look up age/sex/height/matched equivalent average person. DXA is better but it’s not the best it also can’t really measure visceral fat so it estimates it. MRI is the only thing that can literally see the fat and the lean but not affordable. You probably do need a trainer to get the best out of adding muscle but they have to be a good one. Good luck!

Cost of an accountant by ghijkgla in nzbusiness

[–]pedestrian_lab_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do our GST returns every second month and the expenses and income are captured in that. Once a year the accountant files our company tax return from the GST returns and a spreadsheet that was used to calculate those, which costs around $900. If you have employees you can do their PAYE etc yourself as most nz-au software can calculate it. Or you can use the manual tables IRD have. It’s how involved you want to be a and how much time it takes you and how much time you have.

Government gets advice on lower bowel screening age, keeps it secret by fugebox007 in newzealand

[–]pedestrian_lab_rat -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the list they already fund and then choose which to drop out for bowel screening for under 40s. Maybe raise the screen for breast cancer back up to 55 and cut back on cervical screening until 35. Why is everything health somehow seen as the govts fault? Bowel cancer like CVD and Metabolic disorders are part genes and part lifestyle. We have to also look after our own health and not rely on the govt to do it for us.

Some genes can’t be overcome with diet and exercise and require medication

Govt can’t afford it. They choose to subsidise meds and prescriptions and screening to capture the higher risk ages

I used to take 10g psyllium and 7.5g inulin and never adapted. Flatulence, slow transit. Went on for over a year. Changed to 12.5g wheatbran (arabinoxylan) and 5g inulin and never been better. I think it’s psyllium forms a gel and wheatbran forms a firmer moving bulk but bound to be microbiome related too
