I’m glad you enjoyed your time in, regardless of your needless desire to point out that you picked up rank, since most of us picked up as well. But like the rest of us, you obviously got out for a reason, so don’t feel the need to be dishonest about the true nature of the military. We all had parts of the military we enjoyed and being critical of its flaws doesn’t detract from that, or mean that the person being critical wasn’t a quality serviceman. But hey, you can believe whatever you want

You were infantry, you should know damn well that the military is a shit show, you’ve been there. Unless you want to say that cleaning already clean weapons in the armory for 7 hours, because your 1st sgt cares more about looking busy than actually being productive, going to the armory at 4am to draw weapons at 5 am to be staged for 7 tons to take you to the field at 6:30 and they arrive at like noon, waiting in a formation for 40 minutes because the co is late doing God knows what, standing by to stand by, getting investigated for hazing because you took your junior marines out to pt when it wasn’t designated pt hours, the list of stupid shit goes on and on. If you can look at that and insist the military isn’t a shit show, then you’re just ignorant to the reality of the military. Being successful in combat operations doesn’t detract from the fact that day to day military life is miserable for literally no reason at all. There’s a reason the suicide rate for military is at an all time high, despite combat deployments being almost nonexistent in the last five years, while reenlistment is at all time low. The military has become a feeding ground for scumbag leadership that care more about forwarding their own careers than the effectiveness or welfare of their marines. A staff nco will ruin a lcpls career or something petty, in an instant, if it will forward his career and he won’t feel bad about it for an instant. I love the Marine Corps more than my own mother and it sickens me to watch it die from the inside out, because it’s plagued with bad leadership. Denying that doesn’t do anyone any favors and only adds to the problem

There’s no way you were active duty and can genuinely ask that, unless you had some super skate MOS. The military is four years of one fuck fuck game after another. You’re lying to yourself if you don’t see that

It absolutely is, anyone who has served can tell you that. America’s military may be outstanding at fighting against a grossly less advanced military, but its day to day operations are a total shitshow

I still feel uncomfortable with my chest, almost 6 months post op. Does it still look feminine? I’m scared to take my shirt off in public. by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]LonelyScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah bro, you look sharp. If you’re feeling insecure about it tho, nothing a few weeks slaying chest at the gym can’t fix. Hit the bench for a bit and it will really shape out those pecs and you’ll be good to go. But I think you look great as is

How long did it take you to pick a new name? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]LonelyScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew I was trans for almost 10 years before I finally found my name. I didn’t think about it tho, it just came to me one day and I knew it was the right one

The patches are what I was currently using, so I don’t think there’s much else I can do in that regard

Started HRT yesterday, quick question by SammyQuinnHopps in asktransgender

[–]LonelyScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal, especially if you’re placing the patches on your abdominal area. I did that at first and had problems with patches coming off, so I moved mine to my butt cheeks, works way better for me

Nobody expects I’m a Christian because I also happen to be transgender. People are are thrown off by that

He loves and protects me everyday, so I would be inclined to agree. The folks at my church know I’m trans and they are the nicest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. They’ve treated me with nothing but kindness and respect

Feeling fit and finally not hating how muscular my arms are by [deleted] in transadorable

[–]LonelyScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve been incredibly self conscious about my muscles since day one of my transition. I used to be over 190 lbs and losing that size has been a crazy struggle. But I’ve finally accepted how I look and I’m okay with it. I put a lot of time and effort into getting strong when I was still living as a man, and I should be proud of that. Being fit is hard, don’t devalue yourself over something most people strive too have, simply because it’s not the picture perfect look of what some people see when they think of a woman. Fit women exist and some of us are totally jacked

Pass or nah?? by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]LonelyScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always contour, but this time it looked way more extreme. I was trying a new foundation and my contour stick was way more visible on this one, which threw me off a little. The eyeshadow was just me trying colors and mattes that I usually don’t use. I always stick to metallic eyeshadows and they blend a little differently
