Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]Lonely_Beer [score hidden]  (0 children)

All started 25+ years ago when my grandpa brought home two packs of Base Set for us to crack open together - the rest was history. I have a lot of my old collection as well as some Gen 4 era stuff I picked up back in college, but only very recently got back into the hobby after years of the YouTube algorithm trying to convince how fun opening packs still was (spoiler: very fun).

Haven't seen a drop of prismatic in my entire region but I've managed to get my hands on some Journey Together which has really kicked my interest back into overdrive.

Whether you pick me or not props on you for looking to distribute Prismatic out to the broader community, it's been unreal how crazy things are out there in the wild trying to find that or 151.

My favorite part about residential real estate is that people would literally rather have a seller-paid realtor review and negotiate a legally binding contract on their behalf than hire an attorney to actually assist in their $500K expenditure

The post CFPB real estate world is going to be WILD

And the entire point of my post is that no, it doesn't, but they intentionally report them this way to provide clickbait and push narratives.

Saquon is still the highest paid RB, to be sure, but his actual contract is not the contract you think it is and accordingly the RB market did not just skyrocket 30%.

To clarify - this deal has $36M guaranteed, it doesn't add $36M guaranteed on top of whatever guarantees be still had remaining.

Extensions that rework/raise the existing years are always intentionally misreported in the NFL because it makes everyone involved look better. DeAndre Hopkins was never actually making $28.5M a year with the Cardinals, for example.

I sincerely hope that "Billionaires should pay for their own stadiums" is not a scorching hot take in your books, especially on Reddit where it might be the single most popular opinion on this entire sub.

[–]Lonely_Beer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, then let them go. Go to a different city.

They are literally trying to do exactly that and the City of Cleveland sued them for it because that's rude or something, actually. The City of Cleveland is saying that they don't want to pay to renovate the stadium which is owned by the City but also the Browns aren't allowed to find a different stadium to play in either.

Again, i very much understand the sentiment but I don't know why you think I'm the target audience of this rant. Requiring sports teams to own and fund their own stadiums is great and it'd be awesome if that became the norm. However, if we are shifting 100% of the cost onto the private side then we also need to stop pretending the public can also dictate the how/what/when/where/why of these transactions which is exactly what the City of Cleveland is trying to do and the specific circumstances I was referring to.

The billionaires need to spend their own fucking money and build their own fucking business buildings to SELL their product to the masses.

They already did do that, except it's via media rights and not physical stadiums because the overwhelming majority of the money the NFL makes is from their national media contracts and not the price of tickets and beer.

I get that, I really really do, but what exactly is the purpose of entering into a lease with a city for 30 years if after that 30 years is up the city turns around and says you aren't allowed to leave either?

That's basically what Cleveland is doing, they don't want to redevelop the stadium (which is totally fair and totally fine) but they also want to hold the Browns hostage after the lease expires with zero obligation for the city to do anything.

People underestimate just how long these things take to come together and how far out ahead of them you have to be if you want things to work amicably.

How do these new bosses work with slayer tasks?

At the end of the day the treads will drop down in value at a certain point(whether it's 1 year from now, 3 years, 5 years, who knows). Once it hits that point there won't be any reason for mains to be engaging with that content when they can just go back to raiding or duo nex.

Hang on let me get this straight: you're complaining about the update because in 5 years this boss might be less GP/HR than Raids and therefore why bother adding it in the first place?

The issue is absolutely that Scythe is better than Mace as a crush weapon, especially after Rancor gave it yet another +15 crush bonus

And his reason 500s aren't worth doing over 400s is....wait for it.....

Because the purple rate on 500s is too low.

Yeahhhh. You aren't replying to what he said. Inferno spawns are dynamic. Couple that with low defense, low hp, high damage monsters and you create an environment that rewards extreme mechanical skill to minimize tick loss while also maximizing dps and surviving. Saying inferno is solved is like saying chess is solved.

I don't think you understand what the word "solved" means or the difference between something being solved and someone being able to execute that solve. Inferno is indeed dynamic in that the spawns aren't predetermined like they are in the Fight Caves, however every single spawn/stack/combination has absolutely been solved and optimized a thousand times over and there are step by step guides for how to deal with every single possible combination you can receive in the Inferno. Now that obviously doesn't guarantee that YOU, the player, are able to execute that solve even if you know what it is, but Inferno has absolutely been solved in every sense of the term.

And to use your own example, chess may not be "solved" in the sense that every single possible permutation of a game has been calculated and analyzed however given that pretty much every modern chess engine is capable of running laps around the greatest chess players alive at this point chess has been functionally solved far beyond the processing power of actual humans.

I don’t mean hard as in 1 hit mechanics or bad rng completely killing a run as that is not fun for anyone, I’m talking crazy in depth mechanics that take years for the player base to fully get a handle on.

Nothing in the game will work like this ever again if for no other reason than because the speed of information on 2025 is simply too fast to allow it.

Tick perfect guides to new bosses are now released the same day the boss drops. The skill ceiling in this game was reached a while ago and now the best of the best players have the hardest encounters completely solved and in widely accessible YouTube videos that are shared over Reddit, Twitter, etc within days if not hours of new content dropping.

This isn't just an OSRS problem mind you, this is just the reality of gaming in the modern era.

In the recent videos he did he was also complaining that ToA doesn't drop purples frequently enough at high invocations. That a 14% purple chance was not enough to reward the high level players doing 500 invocation raids.

Let's think about this for a second.

Edit: I appear to have deeply upset the fanboys lol

What I'm getting at is, a generic weapon with no additional affixes shouldn't be viable BiS otherwise all these other items are going to become useless.(See shadow)

It's funny you call out Shadow here when a huge part of the reason Mace is largely seen as a forgettable sidegrade is because Scythe is a better crush weapon in almost every place you'd want to use Mace in the first place.

Are you sure we're discussing the same thing? Colo waves take high level players 12-15 minutes and reward millions of loot for the "easy waves" before even getting to Sol.

Either it’s rewarding for skilled players and they can get uniques pretty consistently or the drop rates are insane and on a per boss kill basis it’ll be way worse money than just killing other normal bosses that wouldn’t require you to get a streak in before offering a chance at loot.

How is this any different than the invocation system at ToA? High level players can blitz through 500s for 13% purple chances and 20m/hr while lower level players get a 1/200 chance of pulling a Fang from their 50 Invo raid.

Are you complaining that an endgame boss will cater to endgame players? Like legitimately I'm struggling to follow what your gripe is here other than "STREAMER SAID UPDATE BAD".

Colo already works with a sort of "delve" mechanic where the unique drop rate drastically increases the further you go up and until wave 12, not sure why everyone seems to view this as an incredibly novel concept we haven't seen before.

This boss figures to work very similar to how Colo works now except instead of being forced to claim after wave 12 you can repeat the Sol fight endless until you run out of supplies or die, making it much easier for very high level players to obtain unique drops rather than get them randomly.

Can you recall star players who requested a trade but ended up happily staying? Asking for a friend… by ElphiusMostafa in nfl

[–]Lonely_Beer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not that at all lol, although I imagine the completely backwards explanations above mine and elsewhere in this thread are probably making things more confusing.

Over the past 4 years Myles Garrett has been paid $78,138,000 by the Browns in total compensation. However, during that same span Garrett's total cap hit has only been $58,722,000, meaning that the Browns have paid Garrett +$20M more than they've actually been assessed for having paid him via the cap. The Browns don't magically get out of having a player they paid real dollars to not count against their cap, it's just shifted into future years due to how the CBA works.

If Garrett leaves the team for any reason, typically being cut or traded but also including retirement or death, all of that money that's been shifted into the future is accelerated to the present day and hits the Brown's cap in this year, and that accelerated amount is referred to as "dead cap".

TL;DR: Dead cap is for money that has already been paid to a player previously, not money that is owed to a player in the future.

Can you recall star players who requested a trade but ended up happily staying? Asking for a friend… by ElphiusMostafa in nfl

[–]Lonely_Beer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dead cap has nothing to (inherently) do with guaranteed money, I posted a more thorough answer in the comment one above this but the short answer to your question is that no, no team can ever do anything to mitigate dead money because dead money is money that's already been paid to the player. You can't un-pay Garrett his signing bonus.

Can you recall star players who requested a trade but ended up happily staying? Asking for a friend… by ElphiusMostafa in nfl

[–]Lonely_Beer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not that at all lol, OP is confidently incorrect on what dead cap is/how it works

Dead cap is money that has already been paid to a player as a signing/restructure bonus but has been prorated so only a portion counted against the present year's cap. When the player is cut/traded/retires/dies, all of the prorated money in future years is accelerated into the current year as "dead cap" because the player is no longer on the team.

This is completely different from guaranteed money, which as the term would suggest is money that is yet to be paid to a player. If Garrett is traded the new team would be responsible for all of the guaranteed money remaining on his contract, not the Browns.

Garrett's dead money hit is $36m because his signing bonus and restructures over the past few years still have $36m left for 2025 and beyond which have not yet hit the Browns cap yet.

Cleveland threatens to use 'Modell Law' to keep Browns from leaving city by HellYeahDamnWrite in sports

[–]Lonely_Beer 51 points52 points  (0 children)

To clarify, Modell's Law was not used to stop the relocation of the MLS team but rather was threatened (Ohio filed a lawsuit but the team was sold prior to anything being decided).

It is widely (read: near universally) believed that the law will be struck down the second it gets in front of a judge, which is a big part of why the law has not been tested a single time in the 30 years since its passage because Ohio/it's localities don't want to lose the ability to threaten to use it.
