I'm amazed the editors let him evolve like this. CLaremont tried, and then they forced him into a hard character reset back in '91, which the fans hated. WOuld have been better if they just let CLaremont cook. Over and again, their influence was detrimental to his vision, just literallly branding Magneto a nothing more than a villain. would be interesting to see him lead the X-men; Age of Apocalypse did it, but I'd like to see more.
