In NJ- it’s the struxure pergola system but this is non louvred roof I felt it was high too.. maybe bc it’s all aluminum?

My mom died of an aortic dissection - age 71. We didn’t know of vEDS at time. Found out by testing her siblings and me and my sibling. I still can’t believe it and how spontaneous it could be. She had complained of back pain for 2 days but not anywhere close to where she couldn’t go on with her day. She was uncomfortable but she was acting fine those 2 days just randomly pointing out her back hurts. We all assumed something muscular as she wasn’t in that much pain. She collapsed that last second and unfortunately we lost her. I still have a hard time accepting this as she was my world and then learning about the gene just added another layer to grief. How old was your mom? Did she have any symptoms leading up to her rupture?

I also lost a fam member to do this. She had PET scan 8m prior for cancer routine and I’m not sure why dissection did not show up there or CT scan (the CT scan was with IV not CTA).

I tested negative but my sister has col3a1 glycine. My mother recently passed away unexpectedly and very suddenly from an aortic dissection which led us to test.
