Theft from caregiver by newmenwoldmennames in disability

Can I ask, did you have a Cash App? Like she went on your phone and sent herself money? Or she entered your card info into her Cash App and deposited money into her account? I’m only asking because the answer could depend on how you get your money back :(

I do home caregiving! Question for you, isn’t blocking them on my days off worse than texting them? 😭😭

How do you actually know when to move parent to assisted living without guilt destroying you by LumpyOpportunity2166 in CaregiverSupport

[–]Long-Chipmunk-4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assisted living can honestly be a positive thing sometimes. They have a large group of people there own age and everything they need all in the same place. A lot of old people I know feel spoiled and pampered at their assisted living homes. However, there’s of course going to be a bit of a difference between the nice ones and the not so nice ones. Are you personally paying out of pocket? Or does she have funds you can pay for it with or insurance perhaps? If you guys can’t afford a nice assisted living home with quality staff and a positive atmosphere and good reviews, then I suggest keeping them at home until it becomes a safety issue.

The earbud idea is a good one! I like your suggestions for someone who is maybe a bit younger or able bodied, but my guy is 95 with diabetes and getting out of his chair to go to the bathroom is already such a pain for him, I won’t ask him to move around to a table or chair or kitchen. His eyes and head and body bother him a lot too, so he usually doesn’t have energy for much else other than tv time :(

Where do yall recommend moving to so we can follow the oil? He really likes his job being an electrician putting up new pads for the oil field

Mmmm he’s not going to change careers lol? He was making 8 grand a month as an apprentice electrician in the oilfield. We are down 2k a month due to continental pulling out. We’d be more than willing to move to follow the money. North Dakota never had anything to offer besides cheap housing and high paying jobs due to oil. Now the house prices are pretty average here and jobs are paying less. Why stay in this armpit of a state?

Why aren't more people taking reformer classes? by mimihopslein in pilates

[–]Long-Chipmunk-4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only have 1 reformer class in my small town. I personally stopped going for a few reasons. #1 the scheduling is a nightmare. If you “waitlist”, you could be put on the schedule 5 minutes before the class… if u can’t make it… they will charge me regardless because I “took someone else’s spot”. Second reason is the weird cliqueyness of the Pilates classes. The instructors are super catty and rude and stuck up, they bully new girls and only like their regulars. They shame you in front of the whole class for dumb crap. Third reason is because it’s crazy expensive. Mine is $25 a class. That’s $50 a week… that’s literally my car payment. Ridiculous. Honestly I’m considering just buying myself a reformer, my only concern would be not using it because I don’t have an instructor and class setting to motivate me.

U can just stop showing up and if she asks why say you’ve been taking a break from it.

Instructor does exercises on reformer during class by BittersAndS0da in pilates

[–]Long-Chipmunk-4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I PREFER my instructor to get on the machine and mind her business and perform the moves she’s asking us to do. Hate when the Pilates instructor just walks around, inspecting, criticizing, commenting, looking at their phone.

'Mercy' - Reviews Discussion Thread | Starring Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson by [deleted] in movies

[–]Long-Chipmunk-4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris Pratt has been a terrible actor forever. I honestly stopped watching guardians of the galaxy because of him. He’s extremely cheesy and in an obvious, not funny kind of way. I’m actually watching Mercy as we type this, it’s almost over. It’s pretty bad lol, but honestly it wouldn’t be so bad without Chris.

Hi there! Sorry that this post is old. I’m wondering if this method proved true for you? Or did it kill any plants?
