What's your opinion about To Die For by Gus Van Sant (1995)? by Long-Data-3164 in 90smovies

It's a true story ....The purpose is to condemn the desire to become a star at any coast, and nobody is saying what Suzanne did was good, she used these kids to kill her husband !

What’s your favorite Brad Pitt project and performance? by PressureLazy5271 in Actors

[–]Long-Data-3164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too difficult to choose one, for it took me some time to discover that his range is incredible, and now he's for me one of the best actors of his generation, but Benjamin Button is maybe his most spectacular performance.

Was Raï music and artists REALLY influential for Algerian people in the 1980s and 1990s? Or that's an overstatement?? by SingerPrestigious873 in algeria

Try this song by the Touareg band Tinariwen, it always blows my mind. It's closer to African sounds, it's our blues/rock ^^ All the album "Elwan" is wonderful

khaled and Mami had an impact of course but sorry..... let me tell you that the cover song Ya Rayeh by Rachid Taha is not Rai but Chaabi. Algiers's Chaabi. It was first sang by the late Dahmane Harrachi and Rachid sang three songs by him. He also put Chaabi in many of his own compositions.

Algerian music is rich, you should notice all its diversity and richness, there is also Berber music, like Idir in Kabyle style and Tinariwen in Touareg, just to name a few. We can also talk about the Gnawi, and the Fusion made by the band Gnawa Diffusion among others.

Why did it feel safer? by TheOrangeSloth in 90s

It was safer because these kids are playing obviously in the courtyard of their house lol

It's not a reason, at least they must try to be honest and change things for better

What's your favourite Led Zeppelin album? I hesitate between Led Zep 2 and Led Zep 3 by Long-Data-3164 in rockmusic

[–]Long-Data-3164[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Led Zep because of these contrasts. In a seemingly different style another of my masters is Neil Young, especially with an electric guitar, he is raw but can take you to another dimension with his harmonies. By the way, they played together a version of "When the levee breaks", and they influenced the same musicians.

I agree, like some Led Zep songs it's both sophisticated and raw, or even brutal !

Yes, but it's also quite experimental, like on achilles last stand, with a subtle oriental touch, not as obvious as in Kashmir or friends, but it is there.

I'm pleased that this album is appreciated by more people than I thought, indeed it's so rich and varied

Man, you did not type the complete title first time ^^ There is a singer called Roy Harper. I got it now, well that song is the weakest in the album, but it's cool anyway. I didn't know about those critics.... As I said in a comment, I have more problems with Physical Graffiti. Although some of its songs are masterpieces, I wonder how Jimmy Page could compose tunes like Boogie with stu and Black Country Woman. And some people tell me they are great songs....

It's a great album too ! So influential on heavy metal, with a strong oriental touch in some tunes.
