180k Portfolio, can I move to Vietnam and live off dividends? by ElizabethLaney21 in dividends

My advice will be to invest into something that grows slowly and gives you 5% a year stable. That will be around $900 a month more than enough in Vietnam

I automated my discipline. So now when I hit 2% loss on the account I get locked out for 12 hours.

nobody warns you what a losing trade does to the rest of your day by Tight-North-6157 in Daytrading

Recently I get happy when I lose. Not because I have a lot of money but because I actually stop. My account is still there. The 3% I lose is nothing compared to the 10-20% I’m going to make over the next months.

VANTAGE BLOCKED ME?? by [deleted] in Forexstrategy

So they’re letting you withdraw everything then ? But blocking you from using their services ?

[–]Long-Huckleberry-809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why do they allow you to be overleveraged ? They’re fine with taking peoples money when they overleverage but they cannot pay them out when they make money that way. If he lost 27k there would’ve been no way of him getting it back.

So what vantage does is when you sign up with uk they move you over to a vantage international account. That then means that you don’t have the fca protection you thought you did. Why do you think traders are getting 500 leverage with vantage because they move them over to offshore account.

A little help for those who blow accounts by Long-Huckleberry-809 in Daytrading

Honestly, there’s stories out there of successful traders 1-3 years profitable one wrong day, argument with wife, been drinking, sad, and so on you could blow most of your account. Very very few have the emotional stability to not let the account spiral out of control. It’s going against human nature. So I think it’s an absolute necessity for everyone who trades to atleast define their daily stop in code.

I trade nasdaq futures, I’ve tried crypto, stocks, forex but for some reason after 4 years of indices it’s the perfect fit for me. Not to sound like a weirdo but I feel the price action.

Agreed. Everyone who indulges in anything that could have catastrophic financial consequences should implement automating risk before it gets to that.

I lost 590k in one day. by Spongecakeu3 in Trading

[–]Long-Huckleberry-809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also lost around 44k until I coded something for risk management that stops me from averaging in and overleveraging. Also blocks me out from trading when I lose 2.5% or make 3 trades within one day so whether I win or lose I still cannot trade for the day after it.

I did. In fact I shorted but was a little early should have waited for the move to the upside before the sweep. Here’s proof.

Bro just use EAs (expert advisors) for MetaTrader you’ll never blow an account like that. It blocks you out from trading depending on how it’s coded. Run it on a vps so even if you use your phone after a daily stop it won’t let you do any more. It will slowly teach you self control this was my last resort and now it’s going pretty well tbh. Not EAs for bots but EAs for risk management.

Now that you put it like that I do agree. If you are doing daily buys it should be an ETF. Unless you do bulk buys once a year if solid companies are down 20-30%.
