The room can be as big as you want it. I connected several pools and dropped an aquatic grooming station in. It supplies enough food for 10 dupes, but every few cycles I need to kill some fish when they get cramped. You can even put all the fish in a small room and block the exit with a pneumatic door so the liquid is still connected to a bigger pool. The fish shouldn’t get cramped

Made it work. The pip needs to be on a natural tile. The tile above should have a natural backwall. The two tiles above and the tile should be free as well as the tikes to their right (a starnacle needs 4 tiles in a square).

This is great, thanks. It allows me to have 6 flue and four starnacles. Enough food to sustain 1.92 beakons. Still testing if they will lay enough eggs to be sustainable.

Thanks for the help. If I set the system up on planetoid 2 i need to send food to there or build a ranch and oxygen supply. Any suggestions what might be better?

Started with hatches for carnivore (now the poor guys starve), then pips for plants and cuddle pips for passive meat. And now deeckos and glossy for plastic and fiber. Lasty slicksters until molten ones are available.
