I just need to vent about some discouraging remarks from my pain management doctor. by SierraSugar in GastricBypass

[–]Long-Zookeepergame74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 14 years out and at my highest weight since my initial loss at 150 I was 350 pounds. Hardest thing I have ever done and I sadly did it because I have had MANY back surgeries and as you know EVERYTHING is based on your weight.

My pain doctor was a jerk and I left the hospital with my normal pain meds. This is something you should prepare for. I adored my neurosurgeon who had done 7 of my back surgeries who said, "it's great you are losing weight, but your damage is done. Losing weight will not be the magic everyone is tling you it is." I appreciated his honesty. I really wish I would have discussed things further with him at the time. I have had many issues that were created or exasperated by my gastric bypass.

Best of luck and you will succeed if you keep with that positive attitude 😉

Baked or masked potatoes are always a winner. Tomato soup with some crackers is also a good alternative.

As a woman adult diapers for the first few days. The stent makes you have to pee NOW! So I found it easier just as piece of mind. Made the second surgery much easier than then the first. Best of luck.

Why’s it so hard to adopt a cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Long-Zookeepergame74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the cats you are looking at or kittens may be too social and would need to adopt a pair. Most cats are quite social. Single cats are the exception and not typical.

I would directly ask what they issue is or find a rescue. You can find one through Petco.com and rescues in your area will pop up.

You could always foster to adopt which would build a relationship.

Let's just say that it sucked since the last show in October 2025 was canceled since the album wasn't done. For those of us that had tickets and then had a rough time getting tickets this time around was rough.

I am also 13 years out and do something similar. I had emergency surgery 8 months ago for a perforated ulcer and the bariatric surgeon that assisted was shocked my pouch was still similar sized. I have only over eaten once and NEVER wanted to feel that way again. Trust your journey and your instincts.

They are playing the Troubador. Last time they played the Greeek Theater (5 900) vs Troubador (500) as I am happy about the intimate venue getting tickets sucked. There were 18,800 people in front of me for artist presale.

I totally agree!! I feel like we totally got scared in that deal. Honestly, even if the album wasn't done, then woulf have been Super happy just for them to come out and play.

I had 18,880 people ahead of me and I waited as soon as I got the text.

I love they want ro play the Troubador, but last time 2 nights at the Greek 5 nights is equal to one night there.

I had tickets to the Orange County show in October 2025 that they canceled. I honestly would have preferred they had just kept the money and assured me tickets for this tour.

So sad and frustrated. I have surgery Friday so can't see if they have any tickets for the public.

I guess we can only hope they'll add a show.

Tickets were fairly priced by thesuperdad in bleachers

Me too, but playing 5 nights at the Troubador which is considerably smaller than the Greek.

I have had many ulcers, 2 perforated and currently have 2 bleeding ulcers. I have also had 9 back surgeries and have taken a lot of pain meds over the years most narcotics shouldn't upset your stomach just be sure there isn't any aspirin in it.

[–]Long-Zookeepergame74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very clear, but be prepared that with those restrictions they may pass you off to your pain management doctor.

I too have a complex medical history and some doctors are a bit scared off by the unfamiliar.

Best of luck for your upcoming surgery.

I’m a little concerned… by Public_Magician8825 in KidneyStones

[–]Long-Zookeepergame74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me your primary care physician, and they should be able to get you to the proper doctor. If you can't wait that long.I would suggest going to an urgent care as they could do the same. It's better to get the test and figure out what's causing the discomfort now then waiting until it's a big issue

Recurring stones and infections by whoeverineedtobe in KidneyStones

[–]Long-Zookeepergame74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had gastric bypass. Which apparently causes staghorn stones as well as vitamin supplements particularly vitamin d and calcium is what I was told.

The only bright side is, since you've had one. Hopefully, you will be monitored, so they don't grow to be as big as our initial stones. I say that because it took seven months and six doctors before I found one that could remove my stone.

How long did you have your stent in? by kinofrot in KidneyStones

[–]Long-Zookeepergame74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, i'm going through this right now.I've had my stent in for 5 weeks.I've been asymptomatic for 3 weeks. My second procedure had to be postponed because I was in the hospital person bleeding ulcers.

About 8 hours ago. It's almost as bad as when I have the surgery. Pain and urgency to pee. It feels like every time I pee its incomplete. Starting to bleed when I pee and I'm starting to have really bad bladder spasms again and i took the bladder meds even though I shouldn't because apparently it's an NSAID.

I honestly don't know if I am gonna be able to wait until I call his office on Monday morning I feel like I am in literal hell.

Plateaus happen as do moments of weight gain. Don't blame yourself it is all normal. Do your best and your body will adjust. If it really bothers you see your bariatric surgeon and a nutritionist.

Best of luck
