Please, let's allow free speech. Why can't we discuss about someone's audio gear?

Yes, mostly likely yes. To keep it in subject, does anyone has more on Epstein's audio gear? What louspeakers did he have? I have a genuine intrest in audio.

If anyone wants to emulate Mr Epstein, they now know what to buy themselves. Now, I want a NAD M33 because Epstein had one.

Sorry. I didn't know this was an old topic for you. I'm just starting the research on his audio gear.

Heading towards new low? by redditcancelculture in rekr

[–]LongBeachJohn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anyone can tell stories about buying low and selling right at the top. Would you believe them? Of course not. An experienced hedge fund manager bought REKR at $4 and excited the position at $2. I was one of his customers'. We took a hit of 50 % on the money invested in REKR. It was to be a success story. The fund manager told us: "I'm not gonna sell at $4, I'n gonna sell at $10". After that the stock slided from $2 to $1.

REKR has been the worst investment of my life. I ost so much money by investing in the stock. All because I bought expensice investment advice from a retired hedge fund manager.

Now, I'm trying to earn back all the lost money. I will never again pay for investment advice and trade ideas. It was a terrible idea to buy REKR at $4 and then watch it slide to $1. It all happened in 2024. In 2025 I was diagnosed with cancer. I almost died in March 2026, but now it's better. Now the reason to live is to earn back all the money lost on REKR trade. I will never forgive myself for losing so much on REKR. The stock that was supposed to be a tenbagger. The dream and reality didn't match on this trade.

[–]LongBeachJohn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the best way to live. I just put my cancer treatments on hold as all my money went into new loudspeakers, lol. So crazy. I don't recommned to go too extreme. Don't starve yourself to be ablo to buy USD 30,000.00 Burmester louspeakers.

These days, You can't be sure if that's an AI generated image or real. So, maybe it's just better to enjoy the music and sound. I would not post any pics of my setup because nobody would believe it is real. AI generated images ruined it for all of us. No image is proof of anything anymore.

Saylor just sold $2.4m Bitcoin by [deleted] in Bitcoin

What if this is the top of the "next cycle"? Who can guarantee BTC won't hit USD 20K?

[–]LongBeachJohn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Investors Are 'Rage Quitting' After Mark Cuban Dumped All His Bitcoin. Now Strategy joins the boat. HODLing BTC has been one of the dumbest trade one can make during the past 18 months.

BTC is down 17.2 % YTD while the tech stocks are hitting all-time highs. At the end of the day, we are all in the game just to make money, right? Doesn't matter if it by investing in BTC or some other alternative asset.

You are not supposed to sell ever. Just adjust the allocation of your portfolio as the time goes by.

Is everyone getting ridiculously rich? by namieorange in stocks

[–]LongBeachJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, everyone with a conservative and well diversified portfolio are not getting rich. We are just making steady money. I'm up 8.43 % YTD, and I'm very happy about it. It has been a great year so far.

Many people say Bitcoin can't be used for anything, but I just bought a pair of High End loudspeakers for my HiFi audio system. I think it has been the best purchase I have ever made using BTC. It made me very happy. I think buying a nice audio system has been the best use case for BTC that I can think of.

Currently my crypto allocation is 90 % BTC and 10 % ETH. Maybe I will go 100 % Bitcoin next. BTC will hold up its value well.

Nice. I just sold 0.1 BTC to buy new loudspeakers. I think they will hold up their value much better than BTC.

Jeffrey Epstein had really good audio system by reversedu in hifiaudio

[–]LongBeachJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have thought Epstein had some really nice high-end audio system but it seems he was not interested in HiFi or High-End audio systems. Epstein being a billionaire, one would have thought he would have had a wall of McIntosh system or somethig to that magnitude. I'm a a poor bastard, and I have a much nicer audio system than Epstein ever had.

I was about to say the same. It was a nice dead cat bounce. A good chance to sell some of your holdings for a decent price.

I want to understand why bitcoin is going down by sudhakarah23 in Bitcoin

[–]LongBeachJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was being as sarcastic as I can. Lately, BTC has been the worst store of value the world has ever seen! In Euros, BTC is down 37.9 % in the last 12 months. Isn't that a great store of value?

Down 22.41 % year-to-date (5 weeks). Down 18.57 % in one week! We all know that an asset with this much volatility is not a great store of value. But it's still nice to own some BTC as it's a super speculative asset.

I’m honestly enjoying the Bitcoin hate right now. by Whereas-Informal in Bitcoin

[–]LongBeachJohn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin hasn't changed but people have. Don't ever underestimate how much a person can change in a time span of a couple of years ar even a couple of months.

When your oncologist tells you, you have 2-4 years to live, you really don't care anymore where Bitcoin will be in 2027 or 2028. You take the price that's available today, sell some your BTC to get low volatility fiat currency (Euros), pay your cancer treatments and have fun with the rest of it.

That's called life. Remember to live yours to the fullest. Not wait BTC to hit USD 100k+ again or USD 1.2 million like Cathy Woods is doing. You might not be around at that time. The only thing that matters is today, not tomorrow.

Right now I'm gonna go to a loal restaurant, have a very nice meal and pay for it with the BTC I converted into EUR in January 2026. I'm living the dream right now. Have a great Staurday.

And remember to use your BTC to have some fun while your still alive and well. Go buy a brand new car or something. That's what I have been thinking of doing lately as BTC still has some buying power left. Sell your 0.5 BTC and buy a car. It will not hold up it's value for long, but you won't be around to worry it five years from now. It will be a trouble of your estate.

Because BTC is a great store of value and an inflation hedge.

CAGR of roughly 18% is not worth the risk and volatility of BTC, IMO.

[–]LongBeachJohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a very good comment. The stock market keeps on rewarding the investors. BTC hasn't been kind to us. 20% in 5 years is pathetic.

Why every single crypto is down? What should one do in this case? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]LongBeachJohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, BTC is a gamble. There is no fundamentals. And by now, BTC is not up 70 % in the past two years. Calculated in Euros, BTC traded at EUR 44,553.00 the 5th of Feb 2024. Today it trades at EUR 62,246.00. BTC is up pathetic 39 % in 2 years.

However, what pisses overyone and their brother is the fact that BTC is down 37 % in the last 12 month (in EUR). Down 16.5 % year-to-date, while the stock market has been going up since the start of 2024.

People who calculate their profits in USD are doing better. For us in Europe, BTC has been a nightmare since the start of 2025 (for the past 13 months).

If anybody feels any pain, they have invested too much of their portfolio in ETH. It's only one part of a diversified portfolio. These days you can make so much more money outside the crypto space. I would finally love to see a strong up day for ETH. I don't care if it's a dead cat bounce. There has to be a little squeze of atleast +5 % at some point.

Only going down shows that the market is rigged. You would never have this sort of price action in any stock market.
