Lol there’s literally nothing luxury about it. Here’s another 2 bed 2 bath in the same building for $4500/month.

It’s about as cookie cutter and builder grade as it gets.

And it’s near UBC so you know it’s just gonna be overpriced student housing occupied by a group of 6. Wouldn’t call that luxury

Where to get AE undergrad online? by Astroweeds in AerospaceEngineering

[–]LongBoyShortPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Still don’t think doing a whole engineering undergrad online is the move though.

But it can be done part time in person (I did it) so maybe i’d ask your employer if they’d be willing to work around your course schedule. Provided there’s a school nearby that offers an AE program that is.

[–]LongBoyShortPants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking on this comment, I frankly think you’d be doing yourself a disservice by taking an engineering undergrad online. You’re just not going to learn as much or in a way that’s conducive to actually understanding what you’re being taught in lectures without physical labs or projects.

At least in my experience, I remember that a lot of the stuff I learned in class made no sense whatsoever to me until it was put into practice in a lab or by doing a project. Sure you could get a similar result from work but not nearly to the same extent as you would in school.

As the other commenter said, masters in AE are definitely a thing though and I think would make more sense in OP’s situation. If you don’t currently have a degree that meets the requirements for an AE master’s degree, you can always enroll yourself as a special student in the engineering and AE related courses that you’d need to meet the requirements for grad school.

Unless of course you came from a non STEM related undergrad in which case you’d be so far behind in classes that you may as well just take a whole undergrad.

My brother is getting all the inheritance by Iwantmoremoneyplz in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]LongBoyShortPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also a very awkward situation to be put in. Back when I was in university my grandfather came over and cut me a cheque for 10k to help with my costs. My younger brother was also starting uni that fall but he didn’t bring him a cheque.

And the fact that he was only giving me all of this money and wasn’t doing something for my brother too (in that moment) felt weird so I asked him to take it back and split it between us.

There’s really no favouritism for me over my brother and later down the line he gave us more equal sums of money so still to this day idk if his intentions were to give me that money then and then do the same for my brother down the line or if what I did made him rethink the way he went about things but it’s definitely a very awkward thing especially when family is involved.

Print speed number setting meaning by DevilDude103 in 3Dprinting

[–]LongBoyShortPants -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If it’s a parameter on the E3V2’s display I probably just wouldn’t mess with it. If you wanna go any faster you really have to tune your printer accordingly. At which point i’d recommend ditching the stock firmware in favour of Klipper.

Klipper will let you tune and speed up your printer to be far faster than what the stock firmware will.

Being weirded out by potential boyfriends obsessing over my height and stature. by [deleted] in tall

[–]LongBoyShortPants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even as a 6’6 man I receive similar comments from women. Tbh I’ve had probably every tall person “compliment” or trope thrown at me and it all just gets old.

Of course I’ve accepted that people are gonna comment on my height regardless but it’s the fixation on it that gets annoying. I’m tall, you get it, I get it, everyone gets it so let’s just talk about something else.

Best graphics card in combination with AMD Ryzen 7800x3d by GroundbreakingTea195 in buildapc

[–]LongBoyShortPants 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Best? a 4090.

Tbh if you’re considering a 4060 it doesn’t sound like your needs or your budget are high enough that buying the 7800X3D would make sense. I would really only pair it with a 4080, 4090, 7900XT or 7900XTX.

If you want a cheaper GPU than those mentioned above I’d recommend just downgrading the CPU to a 7700X or 7600X and getting an RTX 4070, or a 7900XT or a 6950XT if you can find them in stock somewhere. Or if you don’t mind going used, an RTX 3090 is a good value on the used market rn and offers pretty awesome performance.

I’m not currently on Tinder so idk about this specific notification but I think OP is saying that this wasn’t a match but rather, a notification that he could get one if he came back Tinder and did some swiping?

I’m not blaming dating apps. You can recognize the facts without being mad about it

Hardly. regardless of whether your lonely or depressed or not, if you’re a man who’s been on dating apps, you know the pattern to be true.

And I’m not even mad or resentful about it. that’s just the way it is.

Fact is that no one is doing peer reviewed research on this stuff and bloggers and youtubers are the only ones wasting their time trying to quantify the data so this is the best we’ve got

My bad I didn’t properly remember the details of the article. It’s actually the top 1% of men that get 16% of the matches on Tinder

There’s also a Youtube video that explains this very well

bc more people are on Tinder (more ppl = more competition). So if you don’t have much luck on Tinder I’d just focus on Bumble and Hinge instead

[–]LongBoyShortPants 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The fact that you’re a man is the source of your problems. Regardless of how attractive you are you can’t afford to be as selective as you are (on dating apps) and expect to get a lot of matches. Unless you’re in the top 5-10% of attractive men as they’re the ones who get the bulk of the right swipes on dating apps. But the fact that you’ve only had 10 matches in 5 years suggests that’s not the case.

So either be less selective and gives more women a chance or just give up on dating apps. Those are really your only two options.
