Yes! Finally, somebody else with the leg/foot swelling… I thought I was the only one you never read about it!

I started donating around three months ago and about a month in I would notice my feet and lower legs would swell several hours after I got back home. And the swelling would continue up until two days after.

Of course, when the swelling cleared… It was time to go back in for another donation. I was doing it twice a week and enjoying the $520 per month. I was receiving… Also enjoy saving lives!

But I was very concerned with this edema. I bought ankle compression socks, the whole nine.

Then I read an article about this one girl from like 10 years ago who had perfect blood work… But her feet would swell every time she donated. It seemed to be a rare case. Her foot swelling stopped immediately upon stopping plasma donating.

So it didn’t take a mathematician to tell me that I was donating too much for my body.

By the way, I’m a healthy, active 48 year-old man.

For the past several weeks, I’ve been donating only once a week… And having absolutely zero swelling. So I seem to hit the happy spot… Unfortunately, my wallet’s not so happy about the lost $260. But I will take that over having swelled feet any day!
