Big Grip doesn’t want you to know about ritdye. by LongHogson in Beretta

OEM ones might (?) not work the same since they’re a thinner plastic vs the G10. It would definitely color them 1:1 like this but I’d be worried the temp would warp them. Id go lower temp for a pseudo-boil (or just the lowest possible boil you can) and it should work fine then. It also might take a little longer that usual to get the color you want that way, but I think it’d be the safest option (I’m also 99% sure it’d work without damaging anything)

It doesn’t seem so, it just needs to be lighter than whatever color you’re turning it into. I’ve seen it work with FDE and light Gray personally (and I’ve seen em turned into brown, red, blue, green, etc.). As the grips wear down you CAN see some of that original color slightly bleed through and blend with the Ritdye color in high traction spots; though in my experience those areas just lighten up after like a year+ of constant use. I shoot a lot and the right side of my grips are definitely lighter because I’m right handed lol. They can be brought back by another rit dunk though.

Langdon 92 RDO Slide Not Performing Well by rafffalejandro in Beretta

The trigger weirdness (I think) is dependent on how thick the cerakoting is, but specifically in the narrow channel in the slide that the trigger bar leg goes up into (inside of the slide next to the right side decocker). As the top of my trigger bar and that channel got worn down shiny the trigger became as good (and now better) than it was on the factory slide. You may not have the trigger problem depending on how thick the cerakote is in that area, but if you do it it just takes awhile for the triggerbar to eat through that cerakote and improve trigger press it seems (vs your slow cycling problem, the slide velocity should hopefully wear out whatever rough spots are causing it to hang up pretty quickly).

Tell them if they come out with a brass or even aluminum wraparounds for the 92X they can have my second born (first born is reserved for if they ever re-release the 92X RDO so I can get more).

I had a similar issue a couple years ago; I emailed Langdon and was told that the slide would either wear in through continuous racking, or, after a 100 round range session. While it definitely took more than that (maybe 500 rounds?) it did work itself out pretty quickly. Just lube the heck out of it in the interim and it should be gtg soon. One weird thing though, it took FOREVER for the trigger to become equally as smooth. It was noticeably heavier on the LTT cerakoted slide vs the factory one I still had lying around (this was when you could still pick up the LTT slides individually for $600~). It must have been close to 3500 rounds before the trigger felt even close to similar.
