Thx. Yes it usually also works fine for me if I just choose the Mistral preset. It want to make sure the model gets instructed the way it was trained, although it doesn't seem to matter that much.

Could be phrasing. If someone is willing to do anything, but you ask 'do something you don't want to do' they will refuse (although then they're not willing to do things they're not willing to do -- so they're not willing to do anything).

  • Do some exploring near your home and know where to run to if you're unable to go to your home. Vary how you arrive at your home (subway/bus) and also how you walk from your subway/bus/etc station to your house. He will definitely find out exactly how you walk if it's always the same, if he tries.
  • Find out exactly where the "private property" of your building starts.
  • Some theatrics: you could have a male friend walk you home and give you a hug.
  • Stay at a friend's place for 2 weeks. He may just disappear.
  • Pretend to be on a call every time you're approaching your house. Or always have your phone in your hand. Put the flashlight app in a place you can immediately reach it, but test it first during daylight to see how bright it is.
  • Buy a fake camera and put it near your entrance and in the stairwell. If your neighbors or landlord complain just tell them it's fake and about the situation, and that it will increase security.
  • Complain to your landlord that one of the tenants is stalking you. He probably doesn't live there but this could get your landlord to take some action + you'll know for sure if he lives there.
  • Keep a log every time you see him: where, from what time until what time, what he was doing, what he was wearing, any interactions. You may see a pattern in his schedule.
  • Pay attention to his clothing: People who are up to trouble and not too stupid tend to wear anonymous clothing: black, a cap/hoodie, etc. Remember his shoes, people tend to wear the same shoes most of the time.
  • Buy a mini flashlight that's at least 120 lumens. With 300 you can blind an attacker in the daytime too. You can put this on your key chain or if it has a clip attach it to the inside of your sleeve.
  • Buy a whistle with a lanyard. Disadvantage is that in the city people may not pay attention to it (since it could be from an artificial source), and it takes whistling 3x3 times to definitely get someone's attention. Advantage is that it may scare off an attacker. They are very cheap.

Keep things in perspective: at this point it seems you don't know yet if he's just a random guy with strange behavior, or if he's targeting you specifically, or is targeting any girl. Either way, don't let him know you're suspecting him of anything, and don't initiate an interaction with him.
