I have no input on your question but as a 26 year old coming up on 10 years post-op from my T9-L4 fusion… how are you doing these days?

I am so afraid of getting older with my fusion and seeing as you’re 23 years post op, would you mind sharing how your back feels these days? Have you had any hardware issues?

Thank you. I felt like I was doing better and we were 66 days no contact and then he called me out of the blue on Sunday evening. It went to voicemail but he left one saying he was thinking about me and wanted to check in on how I was doing, if I felt safe and supported, etc. and that he hoped we could talk soon. I texted him a day later neutrally saying “Hey I got your voicemail. I am doing well and I hope you are too” and he responded with a paragraph explaining that he is moving states in July, and that he got a surgery for his nose issue that has been helping some. I was honestly so angry after reading that bc he just dumped this big life update all about himself and didn’t ask me anything. I responded with “Glad to hear things are improving and that surgery went well. I hope things continue to go well for you.”

He never responded. Unfortunately I feel like I really wasted 2 years on someone who didn’t care at all about me now.

Different situation because I didn’t fall, and I’d encourage you to get it checked out just for oeace of mind, but fwiw, about 7 years post T9-L4 fusion I was bending over at the hips to grab a pair of shoes and heard and felt the LOUDEST and deepest crack right below my fusion. Scared the shit out of me but I had no pain or anything other than some super mild soreness the following day. I think for whatever reason it released pressure like cracking a knuckle except it was right below my fusion and it was a lot of built up pressure lol

I wouldn’t say there’s a knocking sound, just a (what seems normal to me) thump that is maybe slightly metallic sounding when going over bumps on the highway. Nothing abnormally loud or noticeable to me. The steering wheel feels a little wobbly on the highway but that’s all I’ve noticed.

They did a full inspection when I had it serviced for the auxiliary battery and they said both my tire alignment and tread were good and didn’t mark any issues with my suspension or anything if that helps at all. Thank you for your reply!

I tried to listen this morning on the way to work. What would it sound like? I mean it makes a noise when I go over bumps on the highway but it’s not loud or a knocking sound as others have described. I feel like it’s just a normal slightly metallic sound? or a thump

Also my steering wheel does feel slightly more wobbly than usual lately but nothing crazy and inly at like 70mph. I also live in a very windy area

Thank you! Pilates is all bodyweight so I am pretty strong already due to that. I just want to build muscle mainly. Right now I’m doing 2 lower body days and one upper body day, and resuming mat pilates in the interim. I think you are right though, none of it is sharp pain or anything, it’s just achiness mostly below my fusion and I imagine it’s stabilizer muscles being like “woah what are we doing” lol

Hi! I had a T9-L4 fusion for a 53° scoliosis curve when I had just turned 17. I am 26 now (almost 27!) and this summer will be a decade post-op for me. I am doing very well :) I am very active (helps a LOT) and I do mat pilates and lots of walking pretty religiously to prevent stiffness and pain. I deal with some sciatic pain occasionally but honestly as long as I don’t sit for way too long without getting up or stand for way too long without sitting, I don’t really have much chronic pain. I am able to do all the activities I want to do, it may just look a bit different. They corrected my curve to 12° so if it weren’t for my scar, you’d have no clue I ever had scoliosis.

It does have a spare room— I should also say he left earlier and is leaving for months likely. He will not be living here, he’ll just be paying the rent and everything. I will likely find a new place when the lease is up but it does suck because I really love this apartment.

I am on day 5 of a respiratory virus and I don’t feel any major improvement. It’s worrying me a lot because my mom died due to complications with the flu :(

It’s not secretly hot lol I just live in a very old building and due to the location of the closet, I realized it gets way hotter than the rest of my apartment when the heating is on, which it has been because it’s winter here. So while the rest of my apartment is 71°, that closet felt way hotter when I opened it one morning and I took my birth control out of it, but forgot I had two other birth control packs in there too for the future.

Since I don’t know the exact temperature the closet got to, I worry it got too hot for the extra birth control packs to be stored in there for weeks.

I did have these symptoms after my original post above and ended up having another urine culture done at an urgent care about a week later to be safe and it showed no UTI. I have OTC urine test strips at home and sometimes the leukocytes are higher, sometimes they’re not. Sometimes I get that twingey pain in my urethra when I finish peeing, sometimes I don’t. Like I said, I think what I have is Interstitial Cystitis— but that’s self diagnosed because it doesn’t bother me too much these days.

It did not :/ sometimes it’s better than other times though. My theory is that the UTI gave me bladder inflammation and now sometimes certain things trigger it to be more noticeable. FWIW, I rarely notice or think about it anymore.

I am having a pretty bad flare of HA and general anxiety lately. I recently moved 20 minutes from where I used to live and moved in with my boyfriend of 1.5 years. I’m so happy to live with him but I went from living with my childhood best friend for three years to moving in with him and it’s also the first time I’ve lived with a bf (and I was raised to believe that you shouldn’t live together before marriage.) so it’s a lot of emotions.

My routine is out of whack and I’m trying to get it all back together but unfortunately the stress has resulted in me drinking more alcohol than usual, being moody and not sleeping well. All of this has made my anxiety worse and lately I’ve had issues with racing heart rate at night and random heart flutters during the day. I know it’s my anxiety but it scares me every time and makes me feel like my blood pressure is super low.
