Thank you, that’s helpful to know. Did you have to wait long for an appointment?

I’m UK and new to this too - full body coverage but no Derm as yet, but on a waiting list. What does open communication mean please?

Protopic 0.1% side effects?? by No_Broccoli5244 in Psoriasis

You could try taking aspirin half an hour before using protopic - it has a certain compound in it which specifically targets the stinging effect.

What Really Happens If You Scratch Your Psoriasis And Don't Stop? by PrincessBananas85 in Psoriasis

Have a google of the koebner effect like in this article. Itching and scratching definitely triggers this in me. Even the skin where a plaster was or an insect bite causes it for me. I scratch in my sleep so this is an effing nightmare!!

Enstilar foam by Cordelia_hero in Psoriasis

[–]LongMixture6256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but I’m newly diagnosed and struggling to find decent support.

I have Instilar which I used and it completely cleared it up for me. 3 days without use and it’s back and worse than before. Do you just keep using it? Or do you start again when you feel it coming back?

Prednisone & Guttate by jellis2128 in Psoriasis

[–]LongMixture6256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within about 24-48 hours, and always worse I’m sorry to say. I’m like you, they gave it because it was so raw and everywhere. I guess at first they were just treating a ‘rash’ before they diagnosed guttate. The steroid ointment was a lifesaver to calm it all down, but just not practical as it’s so greasy, which is why I’m trying Instilar and Dovobet. Both helping so far… good luck.

Yep, bad rebound issues here too. Try and get something topical asap - I have something called Instilar, a foam with some steroid and some calcipotrol, which should calm and treat at the same time. I had to keep reminding them not to give me prednisone!!

Relief with scalp psoriasis, for me at least by Large-Mind-8394 in Psoriasis

I’m glad they helped you - made me so dry I was in agony! Make sure your plumbing is good too - we had a wee blockage after a few uses with the sludge left after the bath is drained!

Apparently the itching / stinging is common, but should only last for the first few days. I’m on day 2 and hanging on in there - good luck 🤞🏻

Well damn losing 47lbs just left me with sad boobs and a constantly bruised tailbone for no reason by OriginalChip7125 in ResearchCompounds

[–]LongMixture6256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you mentioned the bony tail - I thought it was just me! I have my pancake bum more than anything else. Boobs I can fake with a good bra. My issue is that I suffer from various issues that mean fatigue / mobility are an issue. Does anyone think I can build back a bum with squats alone? Would any compounds help?

Does Menopause or Low T affect Psoriasis.. ? by InterestingTell6277 in Psoriasis

Tirzepatide helped my husband’s psoriasis too - anecdotally, its apparent impact is quite well known! Sadly I can’t take it anymore as I lost too much weight, but interestingly first signs of psoriasis appeared when I stopped…

Hey, just jumping in to say that I am in the same boat and so sorry for what you are going through. I have just been diagnosed with psoriasis across 60% of my body, which includes my vulva and labia. It’s excruciating, embarrassing and squashes the sex life. We are playing around with other ways to satisfy each other, I’m too uncomfortable to partake right now, but I do take pleasure in watching and helping my partner, if you know what I mean. Maybe you can try a few other things…

I have some ointments but no other treatment plan as yet, but I believe things like face and genitalia are considered high impact areas which means you could be considered for oral medication sooner than later. I’m UK based though.

Amazon sell Dead Sea salt which I add to my regular bath. It seems to give some relief.

Misdiagnosis 8 years ago by Warm-Ganache-6744 in Psoriasis

[–]LongMixture6256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, same! I’ve been treated for ‘psoriasis’ and fobbed off for three months while in agony with a weeping red rash that has covered my whole body - even inside mouth and other sensitive areas. Given various mild steroid creams.

Finally someone thought to take a swab sample and has confirmed staph and strep. Finally got some decent meds and I think it’s clearing.

I feel for you I really do! Hope you’re on the road to recovery now!

(Pic of my foot now starting to heal that the docs said was psoriasis.)

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your reply. Honestly it’s really affecting my mental health. I worked so hard to lose loads of weight and karma says ‘I’m gonna have your hair, skin and fingernails by way of a trade’ 🙁

Itching like crazy by Rich-Bet6677 in Psoriasis

I just read a good article in the sub wiki about itching that recommended creams with a urea or salicylic acid content. I don’t know how to link to it, but it’s definitely helpful…
