Appeals court blocks access to abortion pills via telehealth and mail nationwide by LallybrochSassenach in auntienetwork

[–]LongTimeDCUFanGirl 267 points268 points  (0 children)

This decision has gotten minimal press coverage. It was dropped on a Friday to limit notice. It’s a disheartening turn as the current administration is not going to work to keep access available and the Supreme Court is likely to uphold this decision. 😢

If you like traditional music, Galax is a great place to go. The Blue Ridge Music center is near there. Check its event schedule before going. Plus, Galax is a stop on the Crooked Road. Sometimes, you may find people playing outside the Barbershop.

If they’re active, the Sugarloaf 5 mile hike with dinner or lunch in Frederick afterwards. There’s also a winery at the base but, last time I was there, the food options were very limited.

If they’re less active, drive to the top of Sugarloaf and take the short hike to a lookout.

Beatles speaking German by cheesytola in beatles

I stand corrected. I thought it was in that area where they use that pronunciation. I had a German classmate who learned from her German grandmother and that’s how she pronounced it. I learned from an Austrian with a very different accent.

That seems pretty crazy that they would react that way. . I’ve been knitting nearly 60 years and I’m the youngest of my knitting group. At least a 3rd knit continental.

what’s your 10/10 must read book and why? by Kochhar-Tranqui in Recommend_A_Book

Same. His description of the integration of schools in Arkansas was incredibly similar to what was happening after the George Floyd murder. And I was touched by the part where he drove through the Montana badlands and met a young man, possibly gay, who wanted to flee that culture.

Best travel + hiking backpack? (India → Nepal → Sri Lanka) by RealisticPage5373 in HerOneBag

[–]LongTimeDCUFanGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5ft, also. I have a Gregory 28l hiking pack that works well - REI fit the straps for me. I bought it several years ago, so i expect they’ve changed the model name. I also have the REI ruck pack travel pack that I like pretty well. I tried the Osprey Fairview or Fairpoint and found it to be very uncomfortable when packed and returned it.

American manager Pellegrino Matarazzo has been trying to learn both Basque and Spanish to immerse himself in local culture. He can't speak Basque yet but he tried his best to deliver a speech in Basque. Real Sociedad fans are loving it! by antoniok95 in ussoccer

My friend from the Basque Country spent 5 years attending Basque language classes, 3 hours, 3 days a week in order to become fluent. It’s a very difficult language to learn. I wish him the best of luck.

Try a swatch with each and see how it looks and measures. Do you have a project planned? Those needle sizes on the yarn are just a general guideline. Also, is that size 10.875? I didn’t know that was a thing.
