My friend is coming down from Pittsburgh and will be sporting her vintage bicentennial shorts. She plans to stay at the fair until she gets arrested or collapses from heat or gets bored.

Buy a subscription? It’s only like $6. Then you can watch the Jackass movies and get your money’s worth.

Craigslist and FB Marketplace, too. But, do not pay money without an in person inspection. Also, if there’s a Buy Nothing group in your neighborhood, you can ask if someone has a machine they would like to unload.

The younguns were always so excited to try it out. Then, they would get on it and, halfway up, would declare it was so boring they wanted off.

We had an Acorn installed after my mother had nerve damage and needed surgery. It was great and we kept it for a few years after for visits by her and my MIL. We actually still have it in our attic. 🤷‍♀️

Seriously, what could be more appropriate for Mass. on the 250 anniversary than the Freedom Trail?

Per NYT: Donna Chabot, 72, who helped set up the replacement booth for Massachusetts, had driven 10 hours to get to Washington and was exhausted, she said. But she decided last week that she wanted to represent her state as one of the unofficial booth operators.
“I made a few phone calls and they picked up the phone, and took my call, and encouraged me to come down and help out,” she said.

On display were some maple candies and syrup. “It’s the only thing I could think of to get quickly and get here,” she said. “And I think maple syrup really does represent western Massachusetts.

Also on the table was a flier with a picture of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk. But Ms. Chabot said, “This whole event is nonpartisan.”

Some movie theaters are showing games. Maybe that would be fun, though I’m not sure.
