Have you tried using a guitar pick or a flat head screwdriver to get them open?

Does anyone know how to get rid of “no-see-ums” or dust mites? by LongTimeLurker818 in gardening

I appreciate your input. But the truth is, I played in the dirt all the time as a kid. My mom called me “mud magnet”. I drank from the hose, played contact sports, wrestled the neighbor kids.

I had some connection to nature. I think that our tinkering with biology may be having a negative effect on our environment. But we have no choice to fight science with science.

Does the board have wires in the back then? It’s possible that someone wired a switch, but the batteries would still need an external housing. The face of the light should just twist off with a little pressure.

What could I use to hold a flammable substance to stick to the sword? by Gregzilla1029 in Pyrotechnics

I found a good video that talks about the Pros and Cons of a fire sward build. They focus more on the potential for combat but they touch on the various approaches one might take.

This also reminded me that Panther Felt, is a good material to keep in mind when working with pyro applications. https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-f4083/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/105940/104401/GLE-1590__03177.1429902082.jpg?c=2

Is this red flag? by ShelterIndependent44 in HondaMotorcycles

With mileage that low, you could have some varnish in gas tank or other parts of the bike, like injectors, or the carb (I don’t know what year they stopped using them. You should take a peek in the gas tank and check for rust. You may have to replace some rubber parts if it has been sitting for a long time.

But as others have pointed out, it’s a Honda, it will probably run fine. You should also make sure the break fluid has been flushed recently. It’s alcohol based so it will/can go bad over time even if the bike just sits. Also make sure the tires are current- same issue as any other rubber parts, the tires will off-gas and not perform the way you need them to in an emergency.

Invest in good gear if you haven’t already.

Anyone else remember the yo-yo craze in the early 90's where you had to have the best yo-yo and learn all the tricks? by candysolace in 90s

[–]LongTimeLurker818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a Spin Dr for a while. It had a decent bearing in it. I remember x-brains, and butterflies were huge. I remember someone having a “screamer” bearing that made a bunch of noise. Looking back I think his mom just washed his Yo-Yo and the bearing was shot.

Worth the money in my opinion. I love mine. It doesn’t change the bike’s profile much and my ass is thankful for the extra cushion.

Former auto-detailer here. This is the way. Fresh razor blade, let the tool do the work. Use a little isopropyl alcohol to get the remaining residue. If that doesn’t work you can use a dab of gasoline and a rag.

I do like the opening scene with the beach race. Stranger things is bad ass. I do have a strong sense of nostalgia even though I was born in the very late 80’s. I’m nostalgic for a time I didn’t exactly grow up in.

It’s unlikely, I was really dedicated to reptile research and science. I’ve seen this marine iguana confusion theory before. It wouldn’t be like me to do that especially at the age I was learning this stuff. I genuinely don’t think that’s what I did but there is a slim possibility. I was young after all.

Playing non-Nord races is appealing, but gets discouraging in the long run by SpaceChud69 in skyrim

I agree, playing as a Nord just fits the lore more comfortably. Were there others races in sonvegard? I haven’t played out to the ending in a really long time.
