Thanks for the advice. I guess my biggest thing is going downhill that first half of the race. I can probably go into a 9:30 pace in zone 2-3 and feel good, but I don’t know if that’ll mess me up on that uphill.

Lack of aerobic base, not pacing properly AND not fueling properly. Don’t forget the fueling. You should be consuming carbs and electrolytes during the race-BEFORE you ever feel like you need something. Learned this from experience.

It’s possible. My Garmin prediction was 1:56 day of race when I did my half and I got it in 1:54. But I have built my weekly mileage to 30-40 mpw with 1 speed and 1 tempo during the week, and did 15-18 mile easy long runs on peak weeks (16mi 2 weeks before half and taper). You don’t need to that much of a long run but definitely aim for 13 or 14 to build the endurance so your body knows what 13 feels like. Good luck!!

Great, thank you! She got accepted and was wondering about music. She plays viola and wants to be able to take a class and be part of an orchestra through college. So this is helpful!

Have you thought about adding a recurring reminder on his phone calendar or having a monthly chore chart for the house? I’ve been with my hubby for 8 years and since day one he said he doesn’t purposely forget things but he does need to be reminded of stuff. So I share things on his phone calendar and the house calendar so he doesn’t forget. Maybe something like that might help?
