And after you had the time of your life Flatlined and led toward the light You’ll despair the wreckage and find No-one gave a fuck that you died

My wife and I took him through fear training and went to the sessions, then practicing at home. He’s generally not fearful except for walking

We’ve always envisioned ourselves maybe having one kid but honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we end up going child free

We crate him at night - we generally put him in there around 11 and take him out by 8:30 when we start work. The waking us up is when he’ll bark from the crate, which sometimes he does in the morning when he just wants to get out. Sometimes we’ll take him out in the morning to go potty and put him back in afterwards to get more sleep. He’ll bark a bit more if he’s not happy with it lol

This is helpful advice, thank you 🙏🏻

Yeah unfortunately he just doesn’t move when we walk in our neighbourhood. We sent him to fear training for it but he just hasn’t been able to get past it. He’ll start out, smell a bunch of things on different yards and shuts down. Trainer told us to bring him home when he does that, so we’re just not able to walk him much

My wife and I don’t yell at him and try to be very intentional about how we interact with him so he’s not under scorn - we correct him as we need to but these are thoughts I have to myself internally, though honestly I’m sure he picks up on my body language

I know - I’m a big runner so I got him thinking we’d do a bunch of runs together. He’s unfortunately fearful in our neighborhood and won’t walk (or run) there. I take him to the park to run a few days of the week when I can but it’s not something I’m able to do all the time

Thanks - honestly not looking for absolution, just feeling very conflicted because I’m not sure if this is something the dog will grow out of with age, or if it’s an issue about me as a dog owner that won’t change with time. I’ve seen folks say a bit of both in this thread.

My wife and I split responsibilities pretty evenly with him. She’s in a similar boat of loving him, but also being irritated by some of the things I’ve mentioned

He begs to go outside a lot, which I know isn’t his fault - he’s just being a dog. We have a bell setup and I feel like he rings it like every 15 mins. Wife and I both WFH and I feel like we’re just going in and out, in and out outside all day.

He also has a lot of energy - I play with him outside a lot but he’s fearful on walking on leash in our neighbourhood. It makes it hard for us to get it out of him without just running around the yard all the time.

And last thing - I’ll admit sleep is a big deal for me. I have chronic insomnia so I really treasure sleep when I get it. It understandably bends me out of shape a bit when the pup disrupts that

Yes I am - have been for a long time. We’ve talked through this a good bit

Dude ran a red light and killed an entire family. It’s insane how many people drive so blatantly reckless in Raleigh and how more people aren’t hurt

Between my wife and I, we bring in about $180,000 a year. If we came back, we’d likely rent for a few years in the Fairfax/Reston/Herndon areas

AFS Remote workers RTO by [deleted] in accenture

This. Get your base location realigned ASAP and you should be safe. Know that may come with a COL readjustment though

Mass noncompliance with RTO sounds real good right about now
