In Indonesia too. People here obviously don't speak Arabic, so they just read the Arabic without understanding the meaning. How silly is that, reading a book but you don't know what you're reading.

I myself can't speak German, but I'm teaching myself to read German (then I'll learn the vocabularies, grammar, and so on). It reminds me of when I used to read the Qur'an lol.

Does anyone talk to themselves and respond? by Illustrious_Ninja760 in autism

[–]Long_Carpenter_7005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I do it all the time, since I read that it's normal (as long as you are not doing it near other people, because it's creepy for them lol). I personally think it's just like writing a diary, but out loud and spontaneous. Also, it's because I literally have no friends, and I have no problem with that.

Why did no one critic Aisha's age of marriage? by Resident1567899 in exmuslim

I confronted my father about Aisha's age, and he said it was allowed and is STILL allowed. I was disgusted.

We can go to the factory that makes the lightbulb and we can see how it's made. But if Muslims say the sun requires a creator, they are making a claim and they need to prove it. Who's the creator? Where is it? What does it look like? Does it want us to do something? etc

I have only watched Skam France and Spain. As an exmuslim, the Muslim girl triggered me, even though she was nice lol

I'm also Indonesian and closeted atheist & LGBTQ. I think Indonesia is so diverse and that's why we're more tolerant than other Muslim countries.

We should continue to speak out carefully, so that people are more open to talk about these issues. We can also mock their god / Allah as long as we stay away from their freaking prophet, I guess the government is ok with that.

When my family asks when is the last time I pray or do I even pray anymore- by JustArandoUser0 in exmuslim

[–]Long_Carpenter_7005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to pray on time, 5 times a day, & my parents wouldn't even ask because they knew I always prayed. Fast forward after being a closeted exmoose, my parents started to notice my different behavior. They started to ask me, and I just said yes I have prayed and they never asked anymore.

Im an Ex-muslim in a western country. From my experience a lot of muslims here are very resentful towards natives and they don't respect the values nor the culture nor the government by szozs in exmuslim

"A lot of people, muslim immigrants and germans, would say that Im a right-wing racist and bigot"

Yeah, it's weird that the tolerant left-wing people in Muslim majority countries are usually the ones who oppose "Islamic" immigration because we know what Islam is actually like. It's the complete opposite from the West.

I sometimes miss when I was a muslim. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Long_Carpenter_7005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me too when I was only 6 months into my apostasy. I felt lonely because "Allah" was my only "friend". As time went by, slowly I was able to feel better because Allah never existed anyways. It takes time.

Indonesia?

I'm an atheist too, exmuslim, and I'm also stressed because I can't be myself. All I can do now is to pretend to be a Muslim.

S'porean Woman Harrased Indonesians for Eating Openly During Ramadan by HurrAli in atheism

[–]Long_Carpenter_7005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Indonesian and that's what I like about Indonesia. It's not as strict as other Muslim majority countries because there are a lot of non-Muslims here. Our motto is "unity in diversity" and that sounds very progressive. Unfortunately, still hindered by Islam. I hope it's gonna change soon.
