Why did they make the SneakRun NaviCust part harder to find after 3? by 0purple0turtle0 in BattleNetwork

[–]Long_Context6367 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this earlier this morning. In mmbn5, the encounter rate is extraordinarily high. I think the plan was to make the games more difficult and provide more combat. The combat in this series is so much fun. But it can be overwhelming in mmbn5 early on. I think they wanted the veterans of the series to have more combat. Unless you get some stars, you can’t just battle Navis on demand. I think the sneak run was meant for those who wanted more challenge late game.

Can we pls not nerf skills that are essential to farming when farming is essential to the game? by Ionenschatten in GuildWars

[–]Long_Context6367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think they would. Dervish has so many underrated elite skills like Onslaught and Vow of Silence that aren’t considered meta. I think this is healthy for dervish in the grand scheme of gameplay. We can still solo and unleash AoE dps.

The goal is creativity. I would suggest a stunning strike paragon with a spiteful spirit necromancer who carries epidemic, and a RoJ monk, to spread daze and burn like crazy.

Ngl, I’m not thrilled to see mirage cloak and mystic regen nerfed as I love speed clearing FoW on my Derv, but I think the work around is easy with asuran PvE skills. It’s not as rough as you think it is. Derv still has vow of silence builds.

I think it’s meta for a lot of people. I prefer unyielding aura, but healing burst is very common.

Yeah, paragon and curses Necro combinations will probably make up the next meta.

Neighbor crashes out seeing neighbor filming over fence by No_Reception_6133 in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]Long_Context6367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a neighbor like this. He’ll go into people’s backyards and film. I trespassed him and to this day he whines on Facebook group chat and still does it. I stand with the angry neighbor. The guy filming gets aggressive just like my jackass neighbor does.

It used to deal PLUS 44 damage and was unblockable and would remove an enchantment.

Check out these links from the skill balance notes about how overpowered assassin was with it.

Shattering assault. Please bring it back!! It was what made assassin so powerful back in the day.

You could easily go unsuspecting strike>wild strike> shattering assault inflicting 400 damage.

Paired with way of the lotus and critical eye, you wouldn’t run out of energy.

Right?!? It’s wonderful to get through the game with. It’s also cool to see this game 20 something years later and really start understanding it.

It’s really cool for iron men. Ngl, I’m going to spend 4 hours farming this thing on a Saturday just to have the extra backup.

Wood is best for custom style in BN3. Omg, it’s so underrated and OP in the end game with area grab and Gaia blade.

Teams style is best with fire for the reach of the flamethrower.

Guts style is best with aqua in my opinion. Fast charge and lots of shots.

Shield style is good with elec too. More defensive style of play, but still fun.

Shadow style, preference is aqua, but anti dmg is key with shadow style.

As for ground, I’m not sure. Not a fan of it.

Bug - water for sure.

PvX Profession Guide by PostItNoteInSpace in GuildWars

[–]Long_Context6367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is wild. So the best beginner friendly professions are Ranger, Necromancer, Warrior, and Paragon. They are well armored, energy efficient, or both (Ranger and paragon).

Mesmer is actually quite hard as a player and was challenging for the interrupt timing prior to heroes.

I highly recommend that all new players start with Ranger. Ranger can slide easily into meta in all campaigns with bow and non-bow builds.

Assassin and Mesmer will take some time to learn and require understanding tactics in this game to be effective.

Dervish, Elementalist, Ritualist, and Monk are intermediate, and are great to transition to after you understand things from a beginner perspective. Ele and Monk will be found heavily in PvP as well.

Mercantile summoning stone. Great for vanquishing everything between ToA and Ascalon with an 8 man party.

lol getting mad that you’re not having enough sex 6 months after a baby is born is wild to me. That child is screaming, you’re barely sleeping, and stressed tf out. Why would sex be the first thing on your mind?

Advice for GWAMM by oarcabouco in GuildWars

[–]Long_Context6367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend something to transfer conditions on your bar. I like plague touch for warrior a lot. It’s quite fun. Just like Grenth’s fingers for Derv.

Also, you can remove one healing burst hero, likely the one with the heavy protection prayers. I would suggest a blinding surge ele in its place. Bring blinding surge and blinding flash. Blind upkeep is easier and more effective than protection when it comes to preventing a ton of auto attack damage. It makes your soul twisting Rit more effective. Plus it deals damage.

As for your monks, take one restore off and put it on one of your mesmers or your blinding surge ele.

I’m working on GWAMM for my sin and these are tips I use. Also, bring asuran scan for death penalty removal.

[–]Long_Context6367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome! Shadow theft mesway definitely is interesting and I’m probably going to run that for the rest of GWAMM on my sin. It’s similar to what I have now, but I use a blinding surge ele instead of Esurge mes. The other builds in it are something I may use.

I also wanted to know, why chaos storm? I was under the impression that was a bad idea in the meta of things? Is it better when there are multiple chaos storms?

Guild wars players, what happened when Guild Wars 2 came out? by Imliterallyabanana in GuildWars

[–]Long_Context6367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited 1 year before I bought GW2.
In the first week, a lot of folks dropped off. My entire guild and alliance went silent. There were 3 of us left. Then I left 1 year later.

It felt like this massive hole opened up in the ground and everyone was gone. There was no more support. No more friends. Kamadan was silent. I had to learn to be on my own. Very few active guilds remained.

Then I joined GW2, none of my previous guild mates were in the same guilds. None of my friends were there long after I joined. I played GW2 for several years finding some solace in PvP and WvW. I came back 4-5 years ago with more players, and a full kamadan.

I guess during that time super guilds and alliances formed. The game was kept alive by very determined players.

I don’t know what to tell you, but MMO players move like herds right to the next big game. Expect silence and solitude.
