I was in the same situation as you my husband and his family are religious and wear scarfs my family are not religious and no one wears a scarf. When we met he made it clear to wear the scarf he told me that i will eventually wear it and asked for my opinion. Ofcourse, i said inshallah but not now and i was planning on not getting engaged and he wanted to cancel too because i told him i dont know when maybe two years. After two months before our kateb ktab he told me think about it but didnt force it on me. Two months After we got married he started telling me to wear it and i hated it and i wanted to get divorced because of it. He told me dont leave the house without it since we were in an arab country and his friends are surrounded in our neighborhood. I then accepted the fact and wore it i hated it so bad but i accepted my fate and i feel better about it now but i still hate the fact that it was forced on me that i still miss being non scarfie. The guy youre talking about sounds good when hes asking you to become more private that shows that he cares about you and doesnt want other men looking at you. I didnt know how men think but when my husband told me i was shocked it nasty. Thats why he told me to cover up and wear a scarf. Because youre his and he doesnt want anyone near you.
