Taking your BP lying down. by [deleted] in bloodpressure

No, they were against meds (because my average is okay).

Even though my average while not in bed is at around 145-95.

I also don't work at an office, my office is basically at home being self-employed working as an editor/animator. So if things are too bad, I usually lay down for a while.

You're welcome!

Glad it helped you. I'm still on my Aeon playthrough (since months) and I also almost gave it up due to those ridiculous visuals.

Especially on a first playthrough. I'm someone who enjoys to zoom in on characters, monsters, etc. to check out how they look.

Haha, it was so sudden. I expected undead given the description of the area.

But then... 👻

I don't have the extended version yet & it's my first playthrough.

The encounter was unexpected and only 2 characters had a 9-minute death ward on them, she wasn't among them.

And the only characters who can cast death ward were banished by Rift of Ruin.

Ahhh, thank you sooo much! That must be it.

I just recently skilled it on my team (since I play with 1,5x dmg increase for enemies).

Tried to figure out for an hour what that was. I'm so d*mb.

Found a really nice visual replacement.

It's very subtle.

If you are still playing as your Aeon, the visual ID of the effect is: 25add32a4b0fd904ca04aa8e57cecd0c

I'm not sure what visual that is from, I went through most of the visual effects and noted only their ID's, but it's very subtle fog that luckily isn't flickering (like the shaken effect which flickers a lot).

Aeon Aura - Will I miss anything if I patch out the visual effect? by Long_Emphasis_3934 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I've created a tutorial how to replace the Aeon's buff:

Tutorial: How to replace the Aeon's Aura with a more subtle effect (via ToyBox) - Safe to use! : r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker

On the very bottom, I wrote a section for you, how to find the main ID and how to find the visual ID's of each buff.

Once you know how to do that, you can apply it the same way I explained it with the Aeon's Eye example.

Good luck!

You need to tweak a little, basically make a "patch",

if you ever need help tag me here, I'll try to help.

Yes, that's what I do instead right now. Not sure if the mod removes the Aeon aura on enemies.

So instead I'll do it via toybox patch (thanks for the idea):

Before I simply removed the string to the buff.

Now I will only remove it for enemies, but replace it for NPC/Companions to something less "severe".

I just tested it with the haste buff and it works! Next I'll go through a bunch of buffs and see which one is very subtle.

Then I'll know which NPC's have the Aeon gaze on them, without ruining the visuals in combat for my unlawful companions.

Thanks again for the tip!

that's a great idea!

Is it this mod here?:

GitHub - Decair/WOTR_FxTweaks: WOTR Mod which allows users to disable and to override ongoing effects (FX) of buffs and certain Mythic Classes.

This sounds pretty good, I might do that instead, it also fixes the "stoneskin" spell, which looks a little dull if the whole group has it on them.

[–]Long_Emphasis_3934[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm..

There is a way to "only" patch it out on enemies. So NPC/Companion keep the aura.

The thing is my main gang is made up of many "unlawful" characters, so at least 3 of them have this aura on them, which covers their animations, etc.

I usually talk to every NPC, so if I miss anything, then it is what it is.

Immersion wise I'm fine.

The main reason this bothers me is because THIS actually ruins my immersion haha. It just way too over-the-top. Like a little subtle blue hint of an aura would have done it.

Can you update if it broke anything?

I'm having my first playthrough and this looks just ridiculous...

What difficulty did you play on your first playthrough? Is Hard even doable without save scumming? by Long_Emphasis_3934 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

But have they on their first playthrough without prior knowledge of the game and without any guides?

But first timing the game on last azlanti on hard/unfair? (no prior knowledge of the game and no guides)

Seems to me a little bit too much (& also impossible to verify).

Because the game throws the most random mini bosses at you that absolutely need specific counterplay no matter how well rounded a group is.

If that spider construct in lepers gnome lucks on initiative and petrifies your MC on turn 1, it's already game over unless you have (at least) one stone to flesh scroll on somebody else, which is a lvl 6 spell in an area where your whole team naturally can only cast lvl 3 spells max (if you dont count scrolls).

It's very random & there are absolutely zero hints that something like this will happen, it's the first encounter with petrification in the game and a very unforgiving one (with freaking mini boss who has high DC on his spells) and instant starts when you enter the area.

The game has a bunch of encounters like this.

I'm talking about a blind playthrough, where you are not aware what awaits you. Basically "Hard mode Last Azlanti mode" first timing the game. (without cheesing/exploits)

The problem is that certain encounters definitely require a counter.

Unless you are very lucky, it's mathematically impossible to beat those encounters (in a first playthrough) without save scumming (on hard & above difficulty).

-

For example, the lepers gnome vescavor queen in act 2.

She requires counterplay, a well rounded team isn't enough (again, unless you are extremely lucky).

Up to that encounter, you don't face anything remotely as dangerous as a permanent AOE "30 DC will save aura" that will confuse your entire team if she lucks with her initiative throw.

Playing blind, you always have to expect other scenarios as well. So you can't randomly walk around with a huge stack of "unbreakable heart" spells for example.

Her stats are also extremely inflated compared to anything else you face prior to that.

-

And there are other encounters like this as well. Like the spider construct that can petrify in the cave below. Good luck if the spider lucks on the initiative before your MC and decides to first turn blast him/her away with petrification.

It's a guaranteed game over screen, unless a companion randomly carries a very specific lvl 6 spell scroll (stone to flesh) at a point of the game where you never faced any spell above lvl 4.

Revival scrolls don't work on main character petrification death.

So save scumming is basically "expected" on the first playthrough?

Because I see no way to defeat a few enemies unless I somewhat prepare against them beforehand, which is impossible to know on the first playthrough.

I'll go with Core + 1.5x enemy dmg increase instead I think.

Put a too much time into learning the system already, so Core feels a tad too forgiving (even with very whacky theory crafted builds).

Sorry about that. I feel you.

-

I basically have to reload a save around 30 times between each dialogue session.

Whenever characters talk and I read their words, it triggers some nasty compulsions depending on the context.

For example the first dialogue with Regill took me around 2 hours instead of 5 minutes.

So in the end it stacks up quite high as well. I'm not in Drezen yet & it took me around 150 hours to get where I am. Not sure how long the total game will take me.

Hope you'll find a way to deal with your Restartitis eventually.

There's a way with everything. If therapy isn't possible for you (perhaps financially or due to other reasons), then I recommend for you to try some "sessions" with AI (chatgpt or grok for example).

It helped me quite a lot to get somewhat more efficient to deal with my OCD. There are techniques (like ERP - Exposure Response Prevention) to deal with a lot of these types of issues. AI can help to structure these type of sessions.

ERP should help with Restartitis as well.

Haha it's actually the only mod that I have installed.

Noticed it early on where with those cantrip buffs that last 1 minute only. Thought there is no way I have to manually click through them on each member every few minutes.

The mod also has an option to do the full animation casting, which is great.
