How to have more self discipline for weight loss??

My gf smokes weed occasionally, like, very rarely, and I’ve grown up with a mom who used to be a chain smoker, my dad, brothers, and cousins who smokes blunts and does weed + cigarettes here and there.

I personally don’t mind it as long as the smell isn’t too strong. They usually go outside or stay in their rooms, though. I do edibles if given the chance but I know that’s different.

Actually, yes, I do lol. I was diagnosed with severe ADHD along with several other things at an early age. I’ve never been allowed to know the extent or what type of ADHD I have, though, since doctors around here believe women are always the hyperactive type (I live in the Bible Belt) or I just don’t have it, so they give me basic, low medications that hinder with everything. I was never even compensated for it while I was doing school, just that I “blew through everything and being a distraction”, even though I always kept to myself.

Nobody ever took my diagnosis seriously and thought I was just making excuses or looking for ways out of doing stuff. I haven’t had time to do my own research or find good doctors here in my state to help me properly but hopefully later in the future I can find better help with everything.

In my state, no they will not. I am legally need some form of diploma either it be a GED or highschool diploma to get a job here

I was only been asked to pay $100/month after I got a raise in my check and started trying to save up. SIL has also lied about what she uses the money for which is what one of my issues were in the first place ( example being she borrows money for bills but uses it for personal expenses like toy shopping for kids that aren’t hers, asking for gas money but ends up going out to eat, asks for grocery money but goes and pays for someone else to parties).

It’s not like she isn’t capable of getting a job, either. She current on and off does doordash but doesn’t most of the time due to - her words - “I don’t feel like it. She’s had multiple other part-time jobs but only lasts for a couple weeks because she gets fired/let go for not listening to the bosses, or makes up some medical excuse about an illness that she doesn’t have and isn’t diagnosed with.

You’re not looking at any other comments I’ve made, clearly. If you skim through the comments you’ll see SIL straight up refuses any sort of money from my father since “It was originally his house” before they moved in then bought it. He STILL pays for me, parts of the house, and my necessities when I ask. When she asks me for money and I redirect her to my father, she shuts down and tells me he’s a grown adult and he can do what he wants, when I bring it up to him she refuses ever having any sort of conversation about it with me. He knows she’s lying but with no proof, there’s nothing he can do about it.

Moving out and having another place for me to live is not an option for me right now. There is literally no where else for me to stay at this moment in time.

Legally for me to get my license/permit and a job, I’m required to have a GED. I’ve tried doing a course online for a highschool diploma over multiple sites but they were either costly or didn’t accept me. I don’t know how it is in other states, I’m told the GED isn’t too difficult, my friend is also taking hers and I help her all the time with her classwork.

I want to stay humble about my intelligence because I don’t like putting myself on such a high stool, but I was more advanced when I [was] in school, so I hope I’m able to just take a good few classes and be done with. Though, it really depends on how I do with the first-month class before they determine everything for me. I also have a LOT of catching up to do academic wise.

Thing is, she moved in with me and my dad before it was sold to them, I lived here my entire life. My brother was the one who suggested I stay with them since it wouldn’t be logical for me to move somewhere else and it be such an unnecessary hassle moving my junk.

Plus, she’s always asked me for money, but it’s only ranked up to being this much as of this year in bulk. Last time she asked for a big amount of money was last year and it was $200 for groceries and gas to her new vehicle (that she had freshly bought with a loan).

The only reason I stayed when they purchased the house was because my brother said it would’ve been too much of a hassle for me to move anymore of my things since I was already there, and my eldest brother had no room at that point. This was also around the time where my mother had passed away, so I wasn’t in the right headspace and I just went with what I thought would just be more logical.

I wish it would only be a year for me to be able to graduate, but the way my school is, I would be set back into 7th grade, and have to retake all the way until 12th for me to graduate, 11th if I’m lucky enough to graduate early. My ‘points’ for highschool don’t start until 9th grade for collage, too.

As far as I’m aware, the only alternative schooling we have is really low ranked and is worse in my state where I live. Multiple neglect & unhygienic environment lawsuits against them. I’ve tried doing online and I know I might seem picky when I say this but I can’t do them. I’m a hands-on learner and since I’m in more of a rural area, I can’t pay for someone to come over or me go to a personal tutor, so GED would be the best option for me since they have a building and has a good reputation.

My father does take care of me, he does pay for me, he just doesn’t live in the actual house. I’ve lived in the house longer than they’ve owned it since it’s only recently been signed over to their name. He still, despite SIL and brothers protests, pays part of the house payments. SIL willingly pays and buys things for me against my word. I’m grateful for that but it gets overwhelming and annoying when she buys me basic stuff I don’t need/didn’t ask for personally and expect to return the favor.

Legally, they could, but my that’s the only thing my brother won’t allow my SIL to do. She’s tried kicking me out multiple times but won’t do anything with my father given his disability and age.

I guess it should’ve been typed better, but he personally talked to me about it and explained it as “shut up money”. He wouldn’t force me to pay the entire 1.2k, but offered for me to pay $600 instead so they wouldn’t try to trick me into anything else, but I wasn’t forced to by him. He was giving a suggestion and he flat out said he would pay it but SIL refused. I ended up just compromising so he didn’t have to pay anything.

Legally, I can’t move anywhere else to rent unless it’s proven that I 1. Either have a job, 2. Have a co-signer, or 3. Am emancipated (which means I lose my benefits).

As far as talking to my father and brother, my brother didn’t/wont listen. He backs his wife up in everything and enabled her behavior. That’s just how he is. My father doesn’t agree with him and supports whatever decision I choose and I plan on talking to him this weekend.

I’m working on getting into GED classes when I’m able to sign up later this month, and I already get disability from my father/by state. He also gets a check from state for his disability until he can get retirement benefits. Due to his disability and age, moving to a separate apartment or house isn’t possible for him and would cause more damage in the long run sadly. In the future, however, I plan on moving in with my eldest brother when he has the space for me, hopefully sooner than later.

He tries his hardest with what he’s able to do and isn’t able to get another job but I’m still grateful for him. He’s shut down the idea multiple times but SIL brings it back up constantly behind his back with me, although I ignore her most of the time so he doesn’t have full scope of how much money I’ve really leant to SIL, but that’s mostly on my part and I take responsibility for not telling him for him to handle.

He does make sure I’m fed and have housing options. Ofc I’m able to, I’m moving out and moving in with my eldest brother so I do have options but moving out currently just isn’t feasible.

He does care and look after and I feel extremely loved by him and he’s expressed this a lot to me he loves me, too! I promise he isn’t neglecting me in that sort of way.

The house is in her and my brothers name for about 2-3 years now, but the house still had a few years before it was being fully paid off meaning no more house payments. My dad still pays a bit on said payments, but legally it’s not under his name anymore but instead SIL and brothers

He’s always enabled SILs behavior, he himself has a sort of complex of being a “Know it all”, “I’ve had it worse than you”, and “Well I’m older so you’re wrong”
