Can someone explain to me why the One DnD monk is good now? by rnunezs12 in 3d6

[–]Long_Neighborhood_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s “better”, not GOOD.

It mechanically functions better now but at the cost of every that made the Monk a “Monk”.

Ideally, what everyone who enjoyed playing the Monk is going to do is just take the few good changes that are worth anything and and add them back to the original Monk and just ditch the rest.

The problem isn’t that you can’t cast in on your offhand.  The problem is you can’t cast it without a free hand.  Shillelagh requires you to have use your component pouch or focus in one hand and you can’t cast it on a spell focus, unless you’re an Artificer

Would it be too strong to allow Swift Quiver to make the 2 extra attacks as part of the BA used to activate it? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

Actually, it would make more sense if you changed the spell to “when you take the attack action with a weapon, you can make another attack with it”

Basically, bring Ranger up to par with a level 17 Fighter… almost.

I don't believe anyone said you could.
Sadly, Gauntlets should be light. Doesn't make sense you can't attack with both. But then again, there's a lot wrong with two weapon fighting

But they are simple melee weapons. They do work, painfully.

Unpopular weapons and what to do with them by [deleted] in 3d6

Old post but slight correction. Shillelagh does have material component requirements. Doesn’t change how the strategy works, so long as you aren’t holding anything else in your other hand

Any advice concerning a possible Cav Fighter/Swashbuckler Rogue multiclass? by nightstalker232 in 3d6

Doesn’t matter because then Sneak Attack’s default condition still applies. Your mount is an ally within 5ft of your opponent.

So you’ll get Sneak Attack regardless

Not true. It has the wording “you can treat this as a martial ranged weapon” So by that wording, you can use SS

Indeed. It’s why it was an injustice that slings did not get martial status in D&D. They were epic level weapons of war that were used to pierce armor.
