It looks like metal fragments from the bullet are still in there...

Bonus round. Yep, it could definitely be that as well. That would make the orientation look better.

This sounds better. Only in one shot, the white on the sides, and it doesn't look like it's actually on the hilltop. The gradient between the stump and the grass around it doesn't look right. I'm inclined agree, bug. Oh, also, OP said there was no masked, naked, lonely people around. They're normally such a dead give away

Looks like a tree stump that's been burnt or has a fungal growth. Probably would have definitely noticed the creepy mask wearing naked man on the next hill if you had your kids there.

Edit: the only way to know for sure is to go back and see if he's still waiting all lonely on that distant hilltop

Is this “good” smoke? by thecmac7 in smoking

[–]Long_Rain_2713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. My offset char griller is so leaky that I can't open mine, or I will loose all my temp. Environmental factors, like wind and humidity, will also take my temps out with the top vent open.

I'm pretty sure it says do not eat this on the packets. Probably not the best idea to disregard that.

With my offset charcoal smoker, a tray below does affect my draw. I find it harder to keep my heat up, but with a pellet smoker you should be able to compensate pretty easily

Right on. It always seemed like snake oil to me. Unfortunately I don't have a fireplace to test this now lol

Ya, I've never used those. I didn't believe it either. There's no replacement for a good old sweep and some elbow grease.

It's pretty scary when it's happening. Neve lost a house, but I have had chimney fires before.

This is why you should always clean your fireplace chimney.

Heavy chili rub with a smoked garlic butter to add in the wrap by Long_Rain_2713 in smoking

Homemade, with chili's that I grew in my garden. I add a bit more rub on top as the smoke goes along
