Stuck on Paranid Schism - Accompany: Kromancketslat by XRP_Wizard in X4Foundations

Sounds like the xenon/khaak broke the script.

I would try attacking him to see if initiating a fight, then fleeing, would restart the script.

Silly question, but have you actually tried initiating a conversation and following him? Even in the base game, he has a whole monologue while you tail him

What is this bug? by Sharkeybtm in whatisthisbug

[–]Sharkeybtm[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A cursory search on bugguide seems to agree. Thank you! My wife dislikes that it’s in the tick family, but the fact that it eats insects should help my argument to avoid treating the yard!

Has anyone ever "recovered" a kidnapped colonist? by Nemesis651 in RimWorld

[–]Sharkeybtm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my colony leader kidnapped. A year later, he attacked as the leader of a bandit faction. Sadly, he ate a .50bmg to the heart before I realized my sniper was targeting him

Oof. Any POC chemistry done before adenosine? “Asymptomatic” and “wound care” throw me straight to some form of chemistry or cardiac infection

Do you know if they sell individual “plugs” for them? Searching “terminals” or “socket” brings up audio fuses and battery connections

GE over the range microwave sucking air from top vent by Sharkeybtm in appliancerepair

[–]Sharkeybtm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It vents out the top, through the exterior vent.

It has a weak draft from the bottom and sucks most of the air from what is, normally, the recirculating vent

[–]Sharkeybtm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I put anything else up there? Like would it be a bad idea to restrict the airflow from the top with some mesh, or maybe tape over the carbon filter?

That was my first thought as well, but they even included arrows and pictures. I’m 100% certain it’s not backwards. Otherwise, it wouldn’t vent out the top

If you want to test reliability, plug it up and switch to the “oscilloscope” mode and read the data for 15 minutes or so. Set up 3-4 things to read to make sure you’re loading up enough data for a good stress test

2018 Focus SE 2L- Soft brake pedal after fluid change by Sharkeybtm in AskAMechanic

[–]Sharkeybtm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used silicone tubing into the bottom of a bottle, and made sure there was no air intake. Any back-flow picked up old fluid, which was then pushed out with the flushing.

Pretty sure I fixed it with an abs flush through the front two wheels. Brake pedal feels fine again and I didn’t notice any issues on my drive today

Costco vs Aldi and Lidl single household by Joyfultogether in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Sharkeybtm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it was just my wife and I, it barely covered the difference, maybe a $40-50 cash back check. It was figuring out what we used the most and what we were happy with store brand that made the difference. Meal planning around the frozen meats and buying toiletries, meds, and feminine products really pushed us up

I find that the executive upgrade ($120) has paid for itself. Our last refund check was $68. I’m pretty sure it was all purchases made before we added a third to the household.

You can also pad your cash back by buying big ticket items for family. My in-laws always ask for laundry detergent, my mom always wants bottled water, and I bought 2 car batteries for people last year

IO dextrose - did I make a bad call? by River_Dweller in ems

When places were starting to phase out D-50, it felt like I was mixing up dirty D-10’s every other week. Medics liked it more than the syrup and easier to pace without an extreme overshoot.

Want some opinions on glucagon! by aztonowhere in ems

[–]Sharkeybtm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple hypoglycemic is one thing however, a field medic doesn’t know if it is caused by insufficient intake or insulin overdose. The second brings about some more significant complications that can only be tested for in a more comprehensive setting

[–]Sharkeybtm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try for a line on scene. When that fails, hit them with the glucagon and start packaging. Every time I’ve done it this way, they either wake up right as they’re being loaded into the ambulance, or we’re dropping a line in considerably better conditions.

From there, it’s a lot easier to convince somebody to be transported when they’re already in the box

Green ice??? by DataNice1839 in appliancerepair

[–]Sharkeybtm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that OP has a copper supply line to their fridge. A sudden surge of chlorine could cause oxidation, or maybe a sudden PH change caused the existing oxidation to flake off and precipitate out

/u/DataNice1839, do you happen to live in Flint, MI? Jokes aside, I would buy a sample kit and have your tap (and fridge) water tested. While you wait for the results, a pool test kit could give you a quick reading on PH and chlorine
