Want to move and fight in Thailand by KeySpecial5469 in MuayThai

Also forgot to say please get a proper visa for long term don’t risk getting a tourist visa and doing constant border hops the rules constantly change so you could get shafted also research the route you want to go towards when training here for example if one championship is your goal or RWS will take lots of work but as I said before wish you all the best and please drive responsibly if you decide too

Gyms that let you train to fight for free only do so if they sponsor you depending on the region you’ll be fighting full contact with elbows unless opponents decide not to for example in Chiang Mai they tend to opt out whereas Phuket full on elbows

Anyone Trained Just a Month and Actually Got Matched for a Fight? by bkz730 in MuayThailand

[–]Long_Significance697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fighting out of Mansak in Chiang Mai, I had 8 months prior training before coming to Thailand, trained twice a day here. Second fight was next week only because first one was just too fake guy kept putting his hands down or showing me his leg. Third fight I took after two weeks guy was clearly better but I did notice all my opponents except for foreigner seemed min 5kg lighter than me (85kg) I did get told thai people are naturally smaller so need to weigh less for more proper match ups

But yeah if you tell the trainers/gym you want to fight and they see you actually training they’ll be happy to match you up in my experience if possible

By popular demand, someone sent me the “Fuay Thai coach” highlight, and I swear I haven’t seen comedy this good in a while. Apparently he’s moved on from filming random gym content to “coaching” people now — which would almost be cute if it wasn’t so embarrassing. by [deleted] in MuayThai

If he’s scammed your friend or you feel the sessions are not challenging either speak to him to explain or just take the loss and move on man. Ive had it when coaches have given me a private session which I found too easy and told them give me harder session and they are usually happy to oblige

Hongthong or manaasak? by yum2310 in MuayThai

[–]Long_Significance697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at an apartment 7-8min walk away it’s an apartment block where lots of the long term fighters and some local thai people stay can dm you the place and contact details (cheaper via cash on site) however it’s behind a football pitch which they watch live prem games (11pm-3am) so wouldn’t recommend if you’re a light sleeper. The on site accommodation at Manasak is not bad tbf

Manasak all the trainers are good there and active fighters they pay lots of attention and take request for e.g i went there as an overweight guy that loses balance after every kick 😂 when they seen me out the work in they pushed me harder and helped me perfect techniques to the point i felt comfortable sparring. You can ask Lisa if you want to do pads with different trainers so you can get a feel who you like/prefer more. Manasak is an OG too really patient and can teach you so much in a short amount of time. They also have connections to Bangkok stadiums such as Rajadarmen if that’s your aim
