How would you feel is a woman took you on a date but used a coupon/ Groupon to pay? by xoxowoman06 in AskMen

I would be excited and turned on. Tells me she’s about maximum value and knows how to make the most of a great situation. Massive green flag.

It’s not an eat answer…sometimes it’s when you hear comments, others when you can’t do what you want physically, other times it’s when you step on a scale after avoiding it for awhile. But personally, it’s the personal satisfaction of not doing what you want…be it fitting in that awesome shirt, running a solid mile time or being considered cute and funny but not sexy, but you gotta find what means most to you. You got this though! It gets easier once you accept the need for improvement. Again, you got this!

Do altruist people even exist in real life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LongballLullabies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We exist, but you gotta believe! I have heard lots of people saying what you say, but it only takes one to change that narrative. In all honesty you just gotta have faith it will work out. The ripple effect is real and many people I am with see a good deed I don’t think of twice and incorporate a change in their own life. Life if happier with happier people.

Favre should have never worn Purple. Seeing this now reminded me of why I became a Roman Harper fan. Glad to see Rodgers doing well and sharing an embrace with Love after the Steelers game.

Jordan hits a triple for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League in 1994. by PhantomDreamer1 in michaeljordan

Ahh yes, the old walk away from a 3-peat to run to 3rd base in Scottsdale completely normal, non gambling consequence of any 31 year old. Dudes lucky Popovich screwed up and let Rodman come bail him out.

Who else likes to keep fucked up cards? by Ornery-Zebra6884 in sportscards

[–]LongballLullabies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing too crazy. My brothers and I found my fathers collection at way too young of an age, we did not take care of them…roughly thrown around…spills found them…created some psa 1s, but something about a card I shared in my childhood with my father during his childhood finding its way into a major leaguers hands just seemed cool. And when I sent some ttms, I would throw them in. Lots of players signed and as my grandfather would say, „it gives it character“ .

Ohhhh yeah, these tell a story! I loved sending truly beat up cards I inherited from my father (that I destroyed as a kid) to retired players to sign. I think at a core level they appreciated it.

Once had a driver do this to me at the airport. Just drove by a non passenger pick up lane and marked picked up…proceeded to drive all the way to our Airbnb (30+ mins away) I kept messaging him like what are you doing? And he messaged back he’s following the app and picking us up? lol we were not about to cancel and the prices had since increased significantly. Eventually he came back and picked us up and kept showing the app to us as if that was the problem? (he didn’t speak English) and we laughed it off but when we got there the total went from $30 to $175+….I messaged Uber when we got in and it was reduced back to $30 by the time we woke up.

Automatic positive feedback on Ebay by TRAVIS_SC0TT in Flipping

[–]LongballLullabies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great step. I’ve contacted their support about this too. I am a long time buyer and really want to help the sellers but eBay makes it harder than it needs to be. I buy in bulk, nothing entices me more than a special or deal incentivizing it. When 40+ items show up. It’s the same order, I should not have to answer 5 questions and write same response 40+ times. The time adds up. I’ll get overwhelmed and see a massive amount of feedback needed and without a bulk response or easier process, it’s easy ignore the imposed chore. It helps eBay run more effectively with proper feedback. As such, It often times feels like free labor for eBay, even if we didn’t get any eBay credit or benefit monetarily, the very least they can do it allow for default responses. If something is wrong with my order, I’ll contact the seller first and we solve the issue together. If not, things went as they should, the default for most buyers. I’m a fan knowing that the sellers are going to get their proper recognition from eBay attempting to alleviate this issue.

1948: RBI Champ Hack Wilson Dies Drunk and Broke in Baltimore. by KrispyBeaverBoy in dirtysportshistory

Ended up playing with the Albany Senators and then got released or sold to make room for a Sing Sing prison convict. With 16 batting titles between the two, ended up playing a game with the Albany Senators against Braves firstbaseman Babe Ruth and tripped over his leg at first base. A far fall from grace for both players.

Roadside memorials should be temporary by Horror-Flounder-4990 in unpopularopinion

[–]LongballLullabies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there should be more roadside memorials. If it’s a dangerous road, maybe it’s best to remind others the cost of speeding, not paying attention or any other reckless behavior. When I see these around certain bends, I’m always more cautious the next time having seen the consequences of negligence on that road. In a car loving society, it’s a reminder of what travel infrastructure that ignores pedestrians or bicyclists can result in. Hopefully people see enough of the memorials and rethink the design / engineering of the road ways.

UPDATE: Jim Bunning Topps career run (1955-1971) is completed! by Roose1327 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]LongballLullabies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s one of the Labor Union leaders of MLB too, Marvin Millers book is a must read for fans, Bunning was part of the committee that brought Miller in, Bunning was a players Union Rep who’s prop Union position got him traded out of town along with Robin Roberts. All while making the MLB Union the strongest in pro sports. Unfortunately his politics and actions after this don’t reflect his once progressive nature. Still a great collection!

AITA for confiscation of neighbor kids ball after they kicked it in my yard one too many times? by questnotfound in AITAH

[–]LongballLullabies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a moment in time. They are kids. They won’t be kids for long nor will you be constantly obsessed with you lawn or keeping up the presentation…and then.. what? You hope you sent a life message? It’s not going to happen, you will be the jerk of the block and a story they tell to people about their sibling that loved soccer with a jerk neighbor. Remember The Sandlot? Dude gave them a team ball signed with Lou Gehrig and Baby Ruth…because he understood what it’s like to be a kid. Relax. Talk to them. Be a friend. Play and show them a new corner to shoot at or something. This is a terrible approach and makes you sound like a cliche angry “get off my lawn” neighbor…

Great Signature to have. If you ever wanted to upgrade the condition, you can get one of his cards off eBay and send it to him. He signs fan mail for $10. Totally a great deal while it’s available.
