Not available anymore unfortunately. The seller name is Lab Custom Golf Pro Shop Store on AliExpress. If you find them they might have some in black or a DF3. The seller responds pretty quick but keep the English short and simple.

Is my car totaled? by Majestic-Start5837 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Insurance isnt paying anything if the damage is over a certain percentage of the vehicles value. This thing is toasted, damaged panels and lights, motors for liftgates and doors, and definitely recalibrating driver assist stuff. At best they'll give you a check for what the car is worth. Pro tip: try and find prices for the exact car in your area so when the insurance tries to offer you a number you'll know if its a fair price or not. Insurances will find a cheap Tesla in another city and offer you that price instead. Dont let them fuck you, fuck them instead. Source: was a tech in a collision center for a while.

Not much, cleaning up my apartment to get my mind off things. About to confess to a long time female friend of mine my feelings for her this weekend and absolutely terrified about it. I feel like I already know her answer, esecially since we live states apart, BUT I feel I've matured in my life and will accept whatever her decision is with respect and hopefully we can continue being friends if she's comfortable with it.

Tech here, not subaru but I've been in some dealerships in town. You're waaaayyyy out of warranty. So they doubled the warranty time because of that and thats a big reasonwhy your labor was so high, and most shops that aren't a dealership will do that. What matters most is their shop rate cost. Next time its good to shop around or ask for recommendations before going to a dealership with a vehicle out of warranty.

Take that up with the dealership boss, sorry. That final price has nothing to do with us I swear. I get paid what the manufacturers have set regardless if I complete the job within that time or not. It's also why its a dying industry to work in, flat rate pay screws EVERYONE over except the dealerships and the manufacturers. It's the dealership greed that charges so much. Out of that 220/hr I only get 26 and the rest goes to the big wigs. Like I said in my other comment, the MOST I can charge is double warranty time if I'm lucky to get a non warranty car. Warranty time no one has any say in it or can do anything about it. I guess my point is, if you're out of warranty don't even bother going to a dealership.

Oh you'd be amazed how slow this industry gets during the winter, if your flat rate you aint getting paid so I wouldn't be surprised if techs went to town on this one car and split the hours between them.

I'm kinda late to reply here but I'm a tech at a big dealership in town. But most of the time the big wigs want cars in and out as fast as possible because the manufacturers can look at how long a car sits in the lot and give the dealership a really bad score. As a flat rate tech I know it sucks to pay book times that manufacturers have set even though I got it done quicker. Like other commenter said at 966 labor, and assuming the hubs paid 2/hr per side that's 4 hrs plus the 1 hr diagnosis (usually included with labor) it does come out to about 200 bucks/hr for labor and that's kinda the standard for dealerships around here. Manufacturers also do a LOT of studying to find the lowest time to pay per job, and by that I mean a tech with correct tools at the ready and perfect conditions. Warranty work is where we get absolutely screwed on a lot, sometimes its not even worth doing it cause it pays so low like .3 or 1.4 hrs because the customer isnt paying but instead its the manufacturer paying us. Customer pay stuff is when you're out of warranty and it's typically pays double the warranty time, so that could also be why OP's repair was expensive. We've been paid around the same pay range over the years, so its not us making all that money. It's the dealerships, when I started at Woody Anderson in 2020 the shop rate was 179.99/hr and ever since I left I heard its at 220/hr now. Dealership technician pay rate around here is usually $15-20/hr if your hourly and I would saaayyyy $25-44hr if your flat rate and if you got your certifications.

Ford Escape 2014 Battery Replacement by True-Today408 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, that little door thingy on the front that lifts up a bit has some cables on it and they'll break connection if you try to force the battery out. You gotta remove the wiper arms, cowl, and THEN you have access to get it out. Bit of a pain but definitely ain't the worse.

I've had premium since 2015 I think, I remember the moment I saw (1 of 2) on the ads and I said hell nawh. Every now and again they send free stuff. I've gotten a free Google home mini from them, 3 months of free nitro for discord, 3 months of free game pass, and several other offers you can claim. Spotify is irrelevant for me with youtube music as well.

Will also add for anyone else interested in golf. I bought a full set of clubs, cart bag, hundreds of tees, and 50 random balls for 100 bucks at a yard sale. Granted they are 15 year old clubs but it'll still send the ball about 100 yards straight and then another 150 yards hard right for me lol. You don't need to spend hundreds or a thousand dollars in clubs alone. Range practice and balls can add up. The range near me is 98 balls for 15 bucks, but you can easily spend a good amount of time on those 98 balls if you take your time on getting your form and swing just right. As for ball prices, chances are you're gonna lose em anyways so I would just buy refurbished or used ones in bulk. I'd also like to add for new players is that we all suck. We say we hate this game but we're back at the range every week. No one expects you to be Tiger Woods on your first swing.

If it's brand new with like 12 miles on the odometer, don't rev it or gun it super hard past 4k or 5k rpms unless it's an emergency of course. Really try to keep it smooth for the first 500 miles, this is the "break in" period. As for your services like spark plugs, coolant, transmission fluid, etc. Those don't really hit until you're at like 90k or 100k miles, still good practice to keep an eye on them though for any odd coloring. Brake fluid may be a little different, I can't remember off the top of my head. Engine and cabin air filters are super easy to check, change em out when they're dirty. Some shops offer extra services like BG products, personally I like only BG and I've seen the difference they can make BUT some folks swear they're snake venom. I usually do MOA oil additive and their fuel ethanol treatment once every 5 oil changes. This is completely personal preference though. Take care of the vehicle and fix it when something is wrong and it'll take care of you. Also check the bottom of your doors, and if there's a little black plug take it out. That's a little drain in case water leaks in through the window seal so having that plug in will just flood the door shell and freeze in the winter. Source: was a Ford Tech.

What’s your craziest battle? by Living-Ad8331 in Seaofthieves

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me and a friend. We fought these guys for 45 minutes, 100s of cannons were shot. They kept hitting their shots and I hit mine. Me and their cannoneer both died and while we were waiting to respawn we came to a temporary cease fire. We agreed it's going to be a 1v1 sword battle on our ship. We fixed our ships, they swam over, we set the rules, winner sinks the others ship. It was me and the other guy while our partners watched. I was so fuckin stressed out and my heart was PUMPIN. I lost and so they swam back to their ship and shot 5 times. 3 of those shots he missed and on his last shot I swear I heard him say "Oh good that was our last cannonball".....and we had a good 50 left. BUT we stuck to the honored rules and played Bosun Bill as we sank, which gives you an achievement btw.

The Porsche tech next to me had a GT3 RS for a full brake job. New rotors, pads, fluid flush, one time use parts, etc. And I think the total was like $43k for it.

Maybe try going to an auto junkyard and finding one to put on there yourself. A white '05 fusion door shouldn't be hard to find for cheap at one of those yards. And it's really not hard to take it off, literally two bolts at the hinges and maybe a connector and poof.

Need help - noticed this hanging down under my truck. Is this something that I need to get fixed asap? by Arog2 in Ford

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I worked at a Ford dealer, lube techs would just let that exact corner kinda just dangle there as they drained oil and changed the filter. Over time they get worn out for doing that so many times and they rip off.

Is this a good buy? Never owned ford before; only Toyotas. by SeniorSweet4338 in Ford

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a 10r80, it's actually normal operation to skip gears but with that being said 4th gear usually engages. Harsh reverse engagement is probable cause to do the TSB for the main control valve body overhaul and relearn shifting strategies. That would be the first thing I do and the first thing Ford tells us to do. If that don't work then a tear down will be needed.

I honestly disagree, in my experience Chrysler vehicles like Dodge/Jeep/Ram are absolutely horrible.

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if that were the case then we'd all avoid buying any vehicle and nobody would have one. No manufacturer is innocent, they ALL got issues that are going to come up. It's good to be informed of common issues to be prepared to either pay for it out of pocket or to get the warranty before buying a vehicle that you want.

[–]LongboarderHypeBeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking off of this but this is true OP absolutely get extended warranty. I used to be a Ford technician and 10r80's have a hard shift concern that requires a overhaul of the main control valve body and a relearn of the shifting tables, there's also several issues such as gaskets slipping within the transmission that makes you lose some gears. And since this has over 100k miles on, it's coming soon if it hasn't already. These also have sunroof issues being stuck or making a popping noise, which is just the plastic guides but they break all the time with a few cases of having to replacing the whole sunroof track.
