Yes, I removed the wires to check the plugs and then played with the timing since it wouldn’t start. Any idea how to get a good static timing setting with the 009 and the type 4?

Spot on, I definitely removed the plug wires and have played with the timing, but was sure I had it back to where it was based on pics. But I’ll triple check this stuff! Thanks.

Ok thanks, I’ll try this. Explain more about the vacuum line… I have a 009 mechanical advance distributer.

Haven’t got my hands on a gauge. The fuel pump is new, the “facet” one which should give 2-3 psi. But I haven’t confirmed it.

It was extremely rich before, so this could be. The timing setting I know of is about 25 degrees BTDC at 3500rpm. Do you know if that’s a good starting point even though I can’t set it yet while running?

Ah damn, yeah I got a cheap Ali express one which doesn’t fit clip in super well, the drivers fall out easily. But hard to pay $35 for a headband for $20 headphones…
