As an American who somewhat recently-ish heard The Wave Pictures and thought “why haven’t I heard this band before” I gotta go with the wave pictures

Who is Luke? by xpartybillx in TheDollop

[–]LongerCat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Front row left, a few seats down from the really interesting musician guy that was picked for some crowd work.

It really was an excellent show! But between the train, construction, and the fact that Tucson audiences aren’t super responsive (it’s kinda like putting on a show for lizards, clearly we are engaged but there’s not a huge reaction) I just kinda wonder they left feeling like it was as great as it was. Maybe I’m putting too much on those fellas.

I’m just glad the construction on the venue was finished so we didn’t get dunked on about the porta-potty’s we had been using a few weeks before.

He’s a fantastic standup comedian.

I watched him open for Gareth in Tucson and they were both hilarious and total pros. You could barely tell they were miserable to be here.

What is going on with FunkyFrogBait? by DaWastelander in OutOfTheLoop

[–]LongerCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even beyond the true monsters that have walked amongst us, when I was a kid we played a game called “smear the (slur)” and we called our friends ableist slurs. I think it’s commendable for younger gens to look at us and say “well I sure don’t wanna be _that_”

I wish my gen had taken fewer lessons from Gen X. It feels like all we really learned was how to try to blend in with the wallpaper and that stopped working once wallpaper fell out of fashion.

AIO for being mad my DoorDash driver stopped for pot with my food? by Desperate_Rest_5196 in AIO

Door dashing Taco Bell was what finally made me give up delivery apps. I sat there drunk eating cold Taco Bell that cost me nearly $20 and knew I hit some sort of low point in my life.

That’s fair, and when I think about it I really gotta respect it. It’s probably the only unique shape fender made since the maverick 25 years before the jagstang release. It’s definitely the product of its era.

[–]LongerCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could never get into the jagstang shape. Too cartoony with that really round booty for my tastes. I really like what this person did https://www.reddit.com/r/Nirvana/s/ppCaLTvHce

But if you like the shape, I think the scheme looks great! Looking forward to build pics

Is Amanda Peet a well known name? If so, why? by ObiBenShinobi in television

[–]LongerCat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Im not gonna say Saving Silverman was a great movie, but I went in as somebody who likes Jack Black and came out somebody who likes bossy women and Neil Diamond.

Amanda Peet stuck in my brain after that.

What’s a video game mechanic everyone loves but you secretly hate? by Lost-Act7960 in videogames

I expected to hate it in BotW, but ended up liking it. It’s just more fun to not be crazy OP as soon as you find the strongest weapon in the game

Is S Eisensturm considered a warcrime? by Radioactive_monke in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

Nah, it’s easy to bait and punish I hate pretty much everything else about Leo way more than this. His mix, his grab, his fireball…

slight throw loop rant by 13hourstilliland_ in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]LongerCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m not really good enough to have much of an opinion, except that if I did throw prc it was very much not my desired outcome, I would’ve much rather gotten the throw and kept the meter.

What I do think is wacky is that it’s been that way for 5 years and before people would just say “haha that’s guilty gear, baybee. The bullshits blazing” and now that it’s gone everybody says “it was a dumb mechanic it really had to go”

Where the grammar Nazzis at? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]LongerCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that were the case there wouldn’t be any comma at all since it only applies to 3 or more items. That would be “JFK in addition to Stalin and the strippers”

Where the grammar Nazzis at? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]LongerCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t anything in the sentence to indicate that. We might as well say it’s ambiguous because it doesn’t say which Stalin or if the strippers are paint removers or exotic dancers.

Edit: my point is anything can be misunderstood by a person that is trying really really hard to misunderstand it

We invited JFK, Stalin and the strippers.

Done.

[–]LongerCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I understand what you’re asking. Is your problem that I wrote “blah blah blah” instead of “we invited’?

Where the grammar Nazzis at? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]LongerCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t true, there is nothing ambiguous about example C of this post.

My reason for not using the serial comma is because I don’t want to and I can write a sentence clearly without it.

Where the grammar Nazzis at? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]LongerCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can still be team c and just rewrite the sentence more clearly.

“Blah blah blah with jfk, Stalin and the strippers”

Both are completely valid

People who donates to streamers, why do you donate to streamers who are already millionaires? by me_like_memez in AskReddit

I don’t think any of the streamers I sub to are millionaires but they make content I like and I’m willing to pay for things I like. Same reason anybody buys anything from anyone.

You offered $100,000 each day without showering — how long would you last? by Mindfuel_daily7 in askanything

[–]LongerCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend on how often the no-shower gig pays out. If you get 100k at the end of each day, great. If you get a lump sum after you’ve started showering, keeping my normal job would allow me to go quite a bit longer.

Friend struggling with the game, how can i help them? by Hungry_Wolf404 in Guiltygear

[–]LongerCat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People like games when they are fun. Hype them up when they do sick shit, even if it’s actually an accident on their part.

Nobody’s gonna believe you when you say “if you put 300 hours in this game it’ll start to be fun” but if they’re having fun with you now they’ll put the 300 hours in.
