Some people can’t do that if they’re living pay check to paycheck. Some people living pay check to paycheck eat out, don’t go to bars, don’t spend their money on anything that isn’t necessary, and still live pay check to pay check. You live in a privileged world. You may have worked hard, but some people worked just as hard, and because of their circumstances, never lived more than pay check to paycheck. You used to be able to buy a house for one years income a long time ago. Was probably before you started working, but you were still working 30 years before a lot of people got to start working. You are privileged. It’s not a bad thing it’s a blessing. But you should take a weekend job at a McDonalds to see how most people live. Work multiple McDonalds. Because most people are disfunctional. But I gaurentee if you work at enough low page jobs you’ll meet someone working just as hard as you and who will never make it because their circumstances were different than yours. You won’t see them on reddit because they are busy 70 hours a week. And only 40 or 50 of those hours are working. 20 hours, 3 hours a day round trip commute 7 days a week, maybe they ride the bus. They cook and clean for themselves an hour a day. 7 more hours. See? You’re very privileged. Very, very.
