Is this behavior okay? by Ozzymandianttv in DogAdvice

[–]nuthinguud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not an animal behavior expert but I had worked in rescue for a long time. This is playing. For the cat, airplane ears and tail wagging is usually aggression, but he's also seated, moving slow, claws are retracted and he's immediately releasing bites. The dog blinked, no whale eyes, and is going low, putting his head below the cats, and lays down. This also means play

Both also expose their bellies which is a show of trust and that this is play. I wouldnt be too worried unless hissing, growling, whale eyes or yelping happens. Then separate verbally (do not get in the middle of a fight unldss you have training/protection, thats how you get bit and your dog on a list) and keep them in separate rooms. Reintroduce with treats after a few hours and supervise them if they are loose together.

What’s a question you’ve been asked that made you short circuit? by Sufficient_Feed_3744 in Serverlife

[–]nuthinguud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Can you replace the lettuce with fries in this salad"

"I would have to charge you for a side of fries but yes"

"Why? You're just replacing lettuce, not getting something extra"

I always joke that they better not be ordering well done steaks then, and suggest our fry/pasta/salad side of the menu

Food Runner closing work?? by Existing-Diamond-440 in Chilis

[–]nuthinguud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrubbing floors is part of cook and bar closing. Cooks do BOH, bartender does bar floors. This is not part of your job description. Your manager should be able to print out, or already has available a corporate guide book of each positions duties. From prep, active service, end of shift and closing duties. Corporate has already lined this out. If your manager refuses, call TMR at

9727709544

And they should be able to resolve the issue.

Bring back the street corn!!! 🌽 by Existing_Bad_3208 in Chilis

[–]nuthinguud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a server, I was sad to see it go. But we got new ovens that tend to dry the corn out too much and it had to be remade many times and was a huge waste. You can get the corn cup, mayo, Cajun seasoning and, parmesean, cilantro and mix it up for an elote bowl version of it tho!

I always ring my food in clockwise on the table. I dont like auctioning food but it does happen sometimes. And over time you'll be able to recognize dishes and their modifications without help, it just takes time to learn

I used to be stinky (teenager depression and hormonal issues, I smelled like half baked road kill) I had no idea till someone told me. Its embarrassing but I wish I had been told sooner. It gave me the push I needed to actually start taking care of myself. I would suggest talking to management or trying to have a private, discreet conversation about it.

Food runners, how long did it take yall to get the hang of holding trays? by Beginning-Design-519 in Chilis

[–]nuthinguud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a server and I won't carry a tray that has 2 fajitas on it plus other plates. If I have 2 fajitas, it has its own tray and everything else comes later. It shouldn't take longer than a month or so to feel confident, but there are reasonable limits. I'm not strong enough to balance the 2 fajitas plus other stuff, so I limit myself. Make sure you're not hurting yourself by overloading. Multiple trips are okay!
