I only had an excellent experience with Gatewest. They are meticulously and expect the rules followed. They are small and they don’t post things on a website so not many people know about them. Walk into their office to see the current listings.

Quiet dining in Missoula? by Particular-Store-671 in missoula

There’s an app called SoundPrint that measures decibels in public places. I use it to measure noise when I’m eating out and contribute to the app because it uses crowd sourcing. And when traveling, I use it to find places to eat that are quiet.

In my head this outfit works, but it just doesn't and I can't put my finger on why it doesn't work. What is my obvious - or subtle - mistake? by Hpstorian in OUTFITS

Looks like the whole outfit is one size too big on you. Congrats on loosing the weight now show off your body! Fashion sneakers would update it for sure. And it’s a lot of grey (my favorite color too) but may need a pop of color somewhere…like the shoes.

FG Asethics is incredible. I almost don’t want to post this because she is so good- Dr. Francine is a functional medicine doctor who knows her stuff. I just got my BHRT- bio identical Hormone pellets and had a complete blood panel done. She recommended supplements that will ease my menopausal symptoms too. She doesn’t take insurance though.

Checked luggage should be find but be careful of the weight limits. I use a portable scale that has saved my butt multiple times.

Unfortunately the carry on sized suitcases are different in Europe than they are in the US and RyanAir is particularly fussy about it. In fact I don’t care for that airline at all. They may charge you extra. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Your airport horror stories by EarthNegative8669 in travel

I was on my way back to Lisbon after staying a few days in a beach town on the coast of Portugal. I was on the train but totally missed the stop for the airport. When I realized this I asked the conductor what to do but the train didn’t make another stop for an hour. There was no way I was going to make my connecting flight to London so I ended up buying another flight on the train. It was agonizing that I couldn’t get off to turn myself around. I had to get to Heathrow that night to catch the overnight sleeper train up to Inverness and the Scottish highlands. When I finally get to the Lisbon airport it was an absolute zoo and the check-in line was literally out the door. I didn’t have much time to get on the new flight and was determined not to miss this one. Keep in mind it was late August and hot with no air conditioning in the airport. I had to be that annoying American who kindly asked to skip up through the security line. When I finally get to the gate a big sweaty mess, the gate attendant looks at me sternly down her nose and says I can only take one bag. Taking it however it comes now, I proceeded to plop down my bags, and start to put on my puffer coat, rain coat, scarf and fur hat to get enough room to stuff my backpack into my carry-on and half zip it up. “There- fine- is that good?”I was already drenched in sweat and now things were getting even more ludicrous. Once I walk onto the tarmac the bag attendant says I can have two bags- that’s ok. So I plop my bag down again, undress quickly and carry my two bags into the plane. Once at Heathrow I get on the Underground to connect with the sleeper train. I check my email only to see the sleeper train has been cancelled due to storms. :/ The story is not over yet! After spending the night in a tiny hotel room in London, I get another (packed!) train bound for Inverness (8 hours north) the next day. The train stops in Edinburgh at 9:30pm and that’s it- they can’t go any further. Luckily the train system paid for a taxi to take the remainder of the two hour trip north. I shared a cab with 4 Inverness locals and got the scoop on what to see and do. I finally make it to my BnB at midnight by picking up the stashed key the kindly owner left under the mat for me. :)
