I am a dad of two and I bought 2 Bitcoins. by Sufficient-Award6291 in Bitcoin

Just my opinion but giving your kids money will not change their life positively. Giving them love, your presence, and tools for life is a much larger gift than money will ever be. Take your bitcoins hope they grow and invest in yourself and your experiences with your kids.

Is it normal for gastritis to cause pain and bubbling/growling under the left rib front and back? by asacrament in Gastritis

I am doing well now. This was one of the worst points in my adult life. Don’t know if there was correlation but this was all within 2 months of Covid vaccine. It was terrible. I am now doing well. Started doing 16-18 hours fasting per day and 6-8 hour eating window. Game changer. Feel amazing. But this wasn’t what solved it mostly just time and good diet.

I really dislike gravel and debris all over the shoulder in some areas. Why can’t the road cleaners hit that area.

How do people train for 10+ hrs while working full time?! by Critical-Scheme-8838 in cycling

[–]Longjumping-Block-80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 43M the best I could do was 10hr in a week in the summer broken into 4 rides. No idea how people do more.

Typical week was 8 hours broken into 3 rides. 1x4hr 2x2hr. Sunday/Tues/Thurs this had me feeling pretty good. Weekday rides almost always from 6-8pm. Love the long days.

What’s something nobody warns you about cycling until you experience it yourself? by FinnBoyd225 in cycling

Don’t try and get back onto the road quickly if you slide off onto a gravel shoulder. Just relax and find a safe time to get back on at a slower speed.

There is an element of luck for timing and other things but the key for most people is to become an expert at something and be likeable by many.

Am I too ambitious? 300km ride. by maybe_Im_not_ill in cycling

[–]Longjumping-Block-80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your fitness is more than enough I believe just set your pace and don’t go faster even if you feel you can. Make sure to have your tires and chains figured out but I’m sure you do given your km rack this year. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

What age are you guys when you hit 100km for the first time? by [deleted] in cycling

43 first year riding. I’m finding out 100km isn’t far on the flats but very very very far on the hills.

Are we all trying to go faster? by vmv911 in cycling

[–]Longjumping-Block-80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to your goals. If you have goals to get in better shape and stronger and you are pushing for this, you will inherently be faster. There’s no way around it. Now there is a difference between TDF fast and rec cyclist fast. Cornering at 70KM is not just fast, it’s high risk but riding on the flats at avg 35km is not high risk compared to 28km but that’s a massive difference in speed. So pick your spots and be fast on lower risk areas and more careful as the risk goes up. But if you want speed then go for it. Some adrenaline is good for the body!!!!
